Just two weeks after the highly touted release of Living History, the book has plummeted to ninth place on Amazon.com's bestseller list.
While Victoria Meyer, executive director of publicity at Simon and Schuster, predicted that Living History will be "the best-selling nonfiction title for the year," it now appears that the book will have stiff competition from Ann Coulter's new book, Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism, which is now in fifth place on Amazon's bestseller's list -- even though the book isn't officially released yet.
Last week, Fox News Host Sean Hannity predicted that Coulter's new book will topple Hillary's from the top of the best seller lists -- and it now appears that he may be right.
A news story by Carl Limbacher of NewMax.com quotes renowned New York City literary agent Lucianne Goldberg as saying, "Those fabulous book sale figures racked up by Hillary Clinton's Living History may turn out to be mere publishing industry hype."
The news report goes on to say, "Reacting to Tuesday's reports Mrs. Clinton sold 200,000 copies a day after her book's release, Goldberg said, 'I'm told you can't get those figures in one day.'"
While Goldberg said her sources didn't have an accurate sales figures for Hillary's book, she put the number at "way below 200,000."
What about Simon & Schuster's million-copy initial press run? Goldberg said the figure is just public relations hype and that the first run printing was probably no more than 350,000 copies.
Michiko Kakutani of the New York Times, one of the leading book reviewers in America, skewered the book in these excerpts from his critique, "Overall the book has the over-processed taste of a stump speech, the calculated polish of a string of anecdotes to be delivered on a television chat show."
Kakutan continues by writing, "The book struggles to turn the author's many contradictions -- the policy wonk who poses for Vogue; the self-righteous "politics of meaning" crusader who made a quick $100,000 in the commodities market; the big-picture reformer who has begun to position herself as a centrist -- into a narrative of maturation and reconciliation."
If Treason does surpass Hillary's book in sales, it will be a major disaster for Hillary Clinton and her publicists at Simon and Schuster.

Drudge reported last night that 438,000 books of Living History have actually been sold this first week. Sold, not put on display shelves.
Question is now whether it has legs or drops off. Even a fifty percent drop in sales every week would bring her in at less than a million sales in the U.S.A.
Don't know what the plans for foreign sales are.

"While Victoria Meyer, executive director of publicity at Simon and Schuster, predicted that Living History will be"the best-selling nonfiction title for the year."That is their marketing dilemma. It's all fiction.

I was curious to check out the new Harry Potter book, so I wandered to the bookstore this Saturday evening to pick it up.
Out of stock. Not a copy available anywhere.
But Hillary's pensive face looked at me from what seemed like about a million copies of her book.
On Monday, I wandered to another bookstore to see if Harry had arrived.
No Harry.
Hillary's pensive face looked at me from what seemed like about a million copies of the book. Out of what felt like desperation, the staff had put her in the middle of the Harry Potter table.
I understand Harry had a press run of 8.5 million. For some strange reason, I don't think J K Rowling has to worry about where her next mansion or private jet is coming from.
I don't think Hillary's going to add to her mansion collection this year.
If she wants to write a bestseller, I think she'd better learn how to write first.

Yeah, but they can't admit it - that would put it up against Harry Potter and Hill's little screed would end up on the remainder shelf a full two weeks before it's gonna anyhow...

The publishing industry term to indicate a book is taking off is, "The book has legs." Which is particulary funny in a matchup between Hitlery and Ann ("Gams") Coulter.
I think we owe it to ourselves and to the future of publishing to flock to bookstores tomorrow and buy Treason.

What a burn:

Thanks for the report bvw,It was nice to meet you and Doctor Raoul and another freeper on her lunch break,-I forgot her name-if your reading this ,here is a hug.A very small crowd for the shrill and as soon as I got there I was interviewed by Fox news on a different subject, then a local paper, the reporter said to me "doesn't everyone lie in their memoirs".I also had my picture taken many times, they like my sign-"Hillary where's Bill" supplied by the good Doc.Many people tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to turn around so they could see our sign and they all laughed. We did have a few in your face people on our side, the one was a young woman who could not get over the fact that we had a sign that Bill had been accused of rape. She claimed to be a reporter I think ,and was asking the Doctor many questions,he gave answers-she didn't like them. She claimed to council rape victims,I didn't believe her and she jumped from the Doctor over to bvw with the same questions. The Hillary crowd on the other side of the street liked the Doc.and seemed to be in agreement with him and were just there to read about the sex.It was a small crowd,500 tickets were available and I counted 150 at the most there. The crowd was mostly 30 to 50 year old woman, maybe she paid them to be there,no-way she sold 500 from what I saw.The pro-lifers arrived and set up in front of and standing next to the crowd standing in line.I was suprised that the cops let them but there they were. The crowd booed them and a few of the women were hot with them but the cops,CIA,and the plainclothes men were there so that was OK.On our side of the street all were glad we were there except for a few.My 17 year old daughter,Mary, went with me and I was happy she was there.I found out later that the pro-lifers may have been from generation life. Before the Doctor got there we had people leaving the bank offering us cigars, thanking us,telling us we were right on.Doctor forgot his camera and so did I,sorry, fatima and fatima's daughter.PS Hillary supporters are wimpets.

I enjoyed Drudge's picture of Ann from her book cover and the word "Treason" superimposed over the Head of Hillary's Book cover. How better to illustrate Treason than to mark the Hildebeast with
TREASON!

The publishing industry term to indicate a book is taking off is, "The book has legs." This expression has been changed to "the book has cankles" for Hillary's literary effort....meaning wide with no discernible beginning or end.
