Isn't that the way a democratic form of government is supposed to work? The People elect the representatives they think will best represent their views in congress. If the majority of the representatives are Republican, then that's what The People want. Therefore, the majority should rule.

I heard an audio clip on the radio this morning but I didn't catch the name of the Senator who made the following statement on the medicare bill: "It used to be that GOP stood for Grand Ole Party. Now it stands for Get Old People". How low can you go?

I'll wager that the most-restrictive on the minority's power came into being between January 5, 1955 and January 3, 1995 when the DemonRATs had a 40-year lock on the House.
