"Max Elbaum, a former member of SDS, was active in the new communist
movement in the 1970s and 1980s and was the managing editor of
Crossroads magazine in the 1990s." Link.
In Seize the Moment, Mr. Elbaum writes about how the new Communists can use the war in Iraq to further their cause:
"If a creative plan for mobilization can be united upon by an accountable constellation of forces who have earned some moral and political authority, I am convinced it will unleash tremendous energy and enthusiasm from the grassroots. Then, together, we will be able not just to understand and denounce the real "axis of evil," but throw a serious wrench into its deadly war machine." ~ Max Elbaum, Sept. 2002.
ACTIVIST: "Max Elbaum has been involved in peace and anti-racist movements since joining
students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in Madison, Wisconsin in the 1960s.."

Amazing the trouble a few determined mischief-makers can cause.
One nutcase Iraqi Ba'athist Socialist Party defender is now calling on international fellow travelers in international UNIONS to protest our troops efforts to root out the terrorists and mass-murderers.
He kindly left his business address and e-mail address (in Baghdad) where he is actively working to stir up dissent (and endanger our troops) in Iraq - organizing three strikes in three Iraqi cities for Thursday:

The first major nationwide antiwar demonstration, called by Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) for April 17, 1965, beat back a harsh red-baiting campaign. . . Red baiting? The protests were planned in and funded by Moscow.
