His reference is to judges who, ignoring both judicial precedent and the letter of the law, seek to legislate from the bench. "I never saw him insinuate his personal beliefs into his application of the law." This is why I think Gonzales would make a great Supreme Court Justice. Unlike many at this forum who want judges to be judicial activists, I don't. I want judges to be strict constructionists who rule on the law as it is, not how they want it to be.
