[history]
Five intoxicated men, who were angry that they could not find a beer keg after a night of partying in Jefferson, held a wrongly accused man against his will at the house, and beat and threatened him for nearly fours hours, trying to get him to reveal the keg's whereabouts, authorities said.

Officer Bryan Christie responded to the house minutes later and talked to several men outside the house, including the victim, who did not say he was being held against his will. The officer found no evidence of wrongdoing and left, Wilsusen said. Later that day, after the victim told police what had happened, "he said he was too scared to talk when the officer showed up," Wilsusen said.
As usual, there seems to be more to the story.

Does it count that I threatened someone over a keg of beer last weekend?
I served up last call at the golf outing I served dinner to rather politely. But then the little weasel who voted himself most charming of the bunch snuck into the kitchen to fill every container he could. Told him he had one more chance to get out or I was gonna hurt him bad.
Boy that would have been fun.....

A closer look at the suspects surnames will show some incongruity with that statement. I looked and looked, and still don't see what you do. I guess I'm the lucky one.

During the early morning hours, one of the victim's friends who was at the party earlier that night made a "vague 911 call" to authorities at 4:13, "about a disturbance at the house and alluded that somebody may be in trouble at the house and tied up in the basement," Wilsusen said. Officer Bryan Christie responded to the house minutes later and talked to several men outside the house, including the victim, who did not say he was being held against his will. The officer found no evidence of wrongdoing and left, Wilsusen said.
(snip)
The man was assaulted, tied to a chair with belts and held against his will from about 2:30 a.m. to about 6 a.m. That's when someone else still at the house, but not involved in the incident, spotted the keg in a wooded section of the property, authorities said. The men let the victim go, and he drove to police headquarters at 6:35 a.m.
Now hang on, here...did the cop get there around 4 AM???
And if the victim was tied up, how did he get outside to talk to the cop?
Am I missing something?

Nah. "Redneck" is a state of mind, not an ethnic group.
They also are found in all 50 states.

That area is about 45 minutes west of Newark. Once you get past Parsippany, you're in God's country. Some of the denizens of that region are comparable to the "Pineys" of central and southern New Jersey.

Funny how you never hear about marijuana users doing this sort of thing. If beer was illegal, this sort of thing would never happen.
