I thought AFGHANISTAN also translated into LAND OF THE ARYANS just as CAUCASIAN comes from the CAUCASES

uhhh.. i don't think so. Afghani's are not Persians.

I think about 3-5 percent in the northern privances speak a dialect of Persian.
