STATE GOP CHIEF CRITICIZES CLINTON FOR BOOK TOUR

WASHINGTON - The state Republican party chief criticized Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton Thursday for traveling through Europe promoting her new book during the Independence Day holiday, insisting she should be listening to folks in Paris, N.Y., instead of Paris, France.

"The listening tour is clearly over, and the self-promoting book tour is in high gear," complained GOP chairman Alexander Treadwell. "It's all about ambition and ego and I think the people of New York State are getting tired of her act."

Treadwell charged the promotional events for "Living History," the best-selling memoir of her time in the White House, are detracting from her work as the junior senator from New York.

He also cited a recent appearance by Clinton, a Democrat, at a Los Angeles hospital and book-signing events in the Virginia suburbs outside Washington last month.

Congress is in recess for the week of the July 4th holiday. Clinton has scheduled stops in Germany, France and the Netherlands. She will spend Independence Day in England.

Clinton spokeswoman Karen Dunn said, "New Yorkers are sick of this kind of divisive politics. A good Fourth of July lesson for the Republican Party is to stop questioning the patriotism of their fellow Americans."

Given the United States' recent rocky relationship with France over the war in Iraq, Treadwell took special exception to Clinton's appearance in that country.

Paris, N.Y., is a town of roughly 5,000 people in Oneida County, 42 miles east of Syracuse. It lies just down the road from the village of Clinton.

Joseph Crowe, who has operated a gas station in Paris for more than 40 years, said he was not concerned with Clinton's overseas appearances.

"She's got a book?" asked Crowe, 58. "She's probably getting more information over there anyway. There's not much in Paris, New York, it's just a small town."

Nice that this guy is concerned about HRC? But where the hell was he when Republicans in the House and Senate in NY were raising taxes through the roof by helping override Pitaki's VETO!!!

Wonder how much is this book tour costing the American taxpayer in secret service detail costs? Or does Mrs Clinton pick up the tab for it?

Since the taxpayers are paying her salary, the questin is moot.

Geez....

Let's see... the 4th of July, American Independence Day, arguably the most important nonsectarian holiday in the United States of America (and to my mind, more important that most religious holidays)...and where's Hillary???

In Europe, of course!!!

Selling a book filled with lies that she didn't even write.

What?

You expect her to spend this important time with the grubby taxpayers that put her in office? Celebrating America's Independence in the traditional manner of politicians of all stripes since our nation's founding?

Don't be silly! There is money to be made, socialists to hobnob with and further work to be done as she prepares for her grab at the Presidency.

Sigh....Why am I not surprised? Simple. This is just the kind of cheap, self-serving, chutszpah-filled, "it's-all-about-MEism" that epitomizes everything about the Clintons I loathe.

I find this amazing that this is reported as news..as if karen DUNCE is going to say.."what the hell did you expect you ignorant newyorkers..do you think she gives a damn about this state..a state that she never lived or worked in..you are just being used for her own selfish political acceleration..duhh"..that would be refreshing..

I have noticed that whenever there is cheating, lying, stealing and sending our country down the tubes; the Clintoons are front and center.

Ann Coulter's book "Treason" - makes this exact comparison - why is it WE (the republicans) CANNOT QUESTION THEIR PATRIOTISM ...??

Then tell Hllary to shut up, and while you are at it, you shut up too. No one is better at divisive politics than Hillary Clinton, one only has to read the comments she is making in England.
