Bill Clinton's Legacy, "Brothel called The White House"
Sunday Star-Times ^ | July 7 2003

US complains about brothel called The White House Date: July 7 2003

The US Embassy in New Zealand had lodged a complaint with a brothel that calls itself The White House.

After brothels were legalised in New Zealand this month, The White House in Auckland, which previously described itself as a massage parlour, advertised for prostitutes in a newspaper advertisement last week.

The ad, which said the brothel was "looking for more ladies to join the day and night shifts", appeared with a logo almost identical to the US presidential seal, showing an American bald eagle with a ribbon in its mouth, holding the arrows of war and an olive branch.

"We believe that any likeness of a national government symbol in a commercial advertisement is in extremely poor taste," embassy spokeswoman Janine Burns told the Sunday Star-Times.

"We are sending a letter to the advertiser that expresses our disappointment and displeasure about their choice of symbolism," she said.

The White House general manager Scott McGregor told the paper the establishment had used the logo for almost two years, adding, "It's a universally recognised symbol. I don't think they've got exclusive rights to it."

Movie night at the White House during Clinton's adminstration:

Everyone had their own booth and bucket of quarters. Paul Begala was the mop boy.

Now I must say for a advertisment your words would mean a lot to a potential cleint. My God that was funny for a Monday afternoon.

Reminds me of the "brothel" the Dallas Cowboys players ran in N. Dallas a few years ago commonly known as "The White House" as well.

"We believe that any likeness of a national government symbol in a commercial advertisement is in extremely poor taste,"

Poor taste my butt! The majority of Foreign Service types voted for Clinton. If such an issue was before the US Supreme Court, it would find for free speech.

If the likeness is in "poor taste" Mr. Ambassador, I suggest you take it up with the Clinton's and the Democratic Party rather than bother the socialist nit-wits in NZ.

This is nothing new. The website www.whitehouse.com (not .gov and not suitable for minors) has been a porn site for a long time, and a running Internet joke.

Isn't there a house-of-ill-repute in Thailand, also called the White House?

Thanks a lot, Billy Jeff. We're all so proud.

"It's a universally recognised symbol. I don't think they've got exclusive rights to it."

Hmmm. If one compares the first sentence to the second, one might conclude that he's fallen off of the logic train.

From March, 2001:

Travelin’ Bill gets his legacy, sort of

No matter how much he tries, Mr. Clinton just can’t stay out of the news. This must be murder for the shy, introverted former president.

The National Taxpayers Union (NTU) released a study on presidential travel the other day. Flabbergastingly enough, it disclosed that Wee Willy did more overseas traveling than any president in the past 48 years.

In fact, Clinton made more foreign visits than Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon combined. He spent more days overseas just in 1998 than President Kennedy did during his entire term. Bill visited almost as many nations during his eight years as Presidents Carter, Reagan and Bush did in their combined 16 years in office.

Why’d he spend so many nights so far away from the White House? Perhaps being hitched to the world’s smartest woman isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Not that Bill lacked companionship on his jaunts. On his 1998 trip to Africa, 1,302 Federal employees accompanied him. This was, you may recall, when the vast right-wing conspiracy was trying to bounce Clinton from the White House. It was strictly a coincidence that at the same time he brought all these folks along, a grand jury wanted information from several of them.

In 1992 Candidate Clinton beefed about George Bush’s foreign journeys. He stated, “It is time for us to have a president who cares more about Littleton, N. H., than about Liechtenstein; more about Manchester than Micronesia.”

The NTU study notes the General Accounting Office’s examination of half of Clinton’s overseas trips shows costs of more than $263 million. This doesn’t include the expense of Secret Service protection, which is understandably classified, and the costs incurred by all the agencies involved in planning the trips. According to the National Taxpayers Union, all of Clinton’s travels abroad cost about half a billion dollars.

That’s a figure most of us have difficulty comprehending. Half a billion seconds is roughly equal to 16 years.

Did we the people get much for all those bucks? According to a Clinton spokesperson, the answer’s a resounding yes. Jobs were created because of increased exports and Clinton’s presence promoted human rights. These supposed results are vague and hard to nail down. Nevertheless, there’s little doubt Billy Boy did indeed have a significant impact around the world and evidence of this keeps emerging.

Look no further than the Clinton Plaza. No, that isn’t part of the presidential library in Arkansas or the Harlem globetrotter’s new digs in that fine community. Clinton Plaza is in Bangkok, Thailand and boasts “entertainment presidential style.” It is six floors of go-go clubs, bars and discos. Its web site, www.clintonplaza.com, recommends Monica’s, “named after one of Bill's favorite delights.” And don’t miss out on the Yahoo!!!! Bar, described as “one of Clinton’s sexiest bars, a great place to sip some suds and chat some comely chicks. Opens mid-morning to get the day started in style.”

And how can one overlook Bill’s Coffee Shop? There has to be “special port for Bill at Clinton Plaza and as you might expect Bill’s is the most active port in the plaza.” Yep. Just what you might expect.

In Reykjavik, Iceland, there’s the Clinton Erotic Nightclub, also known as Club Clinton. The facility’s manager told the Washington Post: “The club is on two floors. The first floor has a stage for the striptease show, mainly, and the second floor is the VIP floor, where we have rooms for private dances, mainly, and the champagne bar, called the Monica Lewinsky bar, where the customers can buy champagne for the ladies. And Cuban cigars.”

Is this a legacy or what? Of course, these spots aren’t officially affiliated with Bill. His lifestyle simply inspired their being named in his honor. As the web site of one points out: “WM. Clinton has no personal knowledge of, or any connection whatsoever with Clinton Plaza, Bangkok, Thailand.”

That may change. Wait until he learns that it’s a terrific place to chat some comely chicks.

He has probably visited there since he has learned about it.
He is infamous and his name is known throughout the world pertaining to sexual scandals.

I hope they changed out the carpets and steam cleaned the White House when Bush moved in.
