I don't know about anyone else, but I find the name "MoveOn" highly amusing, considering the purpose of a website...particularly one that wants money from a visitor.

>>Every time there are plans to FReep an event, a series of press releases should be sent to all area major news outlets -- announcing the upcoming event, just prior to the event, and then a news summary about the event<<

Also, I think "freerepublic.com" at the bottom of our signs would be helpful.

That way, whatever photo makes it to print will be an ad in itself.

ALSO-- although I haven't done it yet, a good inexpensive thing would be for individuals to have business cards printed (at their/my own expense even), with the FR logo and the URL, and maybe "Conservative News Forum" or whatever, to be handed out in mass at FReeper events. Something very simple and basic.

Of course, if all this needs to be "official" and approved by Jim himself, so be it. But I think it would be a good promotion, anyway.

"Press releases" can include sending out info that can easily be converted to human interest stories -- like news about some of the regular threads.

I caught that segment during my lunch break. I 'rush' straight to my car every day at 12:30.

So, since MoveOn is so superior to this forum, and since it's pushing a bunch of shallow tripe on people, while
we seek truth, then what changes do you recommend?

Ever since Hillary's image consultants told her to "open up - widen your eyes and smile" we've gotten some great photos of her looking like your basic maniac.

FWIW, libertarians have long claimed that they own the internet. Harry Browne even led in several internet polls in 2000.

Rush crept up and ambushed mainstream media by reviving the old, unglamorous, ignored medium of AM radio. He built his audience up one station at a time, in the face of endless protests and boycotts. One of my little, local stations was even asking for donations to keep the show on, as they couldn't find enough brave sponsors for it in the beginning!

He is right about the Liberal Network plans being another example of Elitist Top-Down Failure. He is the only genuine Grass-roots media activist.

The left will always have a toe-hold on the Internet as long as every Kollege Kid gets free web space from the universities.

"Last night I caught Paula Zahn interviewing aging actress Kathleen Turner. (War of the Roses, Romancing the Stone, Body Heat, etc.) Self identified liberal, Ms. Turner will soon have her own talk radio show on PBS. "

That should be a hoot! Does anyone out there remember her appearance years ago on the "Larry ('Bootlicker') King Show?" She was defing some University's opposition to an AIDS play in her home state of Missouri.

I think she was there representing Lear's Limo Liberals for the Hollywood Way that night. But she certainly didn't do them any favors (except maybe among the lavender mob). She was SO unbearably halty and pretentious("...Weellllll...Larrrrry...") it made me want to gag! She & Larry made "The Actor's Studio" look like "Meet the Press."

I think her breathless, hair-swishing performance that night has only been surpassed recently by Madonna fumbling around on her new "Briteesh Occent" when accepted a Music Award.

When some popular shock-jocks once said "Uh-oh...watch out...it's the 'Kathleen Turner' syndrome," I died laughing, knowing JUST what they were talking about.

If Smirking Chimp posts full LA Times articles, can we post the article from there, avoiding the court order, and possibly encouraging them to apply the same 4 point test to them? Or would that border on contempt and violation of a court order, which we want to avoid?

No. But we can post the URL, and people can go there to read the full article. ;-)
