The failed effort by Kentucky lawmakers to re-erect a Ten Commandments monument on the Capitol grounds in Frankfort cost the state more than $100,000.

The state last week sent a check for $121,524 to the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky for its costs of a successful challenge to a 2000 resolution directing that the monument, which had been put in storage in 1988 for a construction project, be placed near the floral clock.

Maybe now they can afford to defend Michael Savage?

I won't hold my breath!

I don't recall electing the ACLU to be arbiter of my country's environment. The ACLU is predominantly a radical left wing group trying to alter the very essence of this country. Loathesome and not at all interested in law, justice, or the constitution...ie a superb tool of the rats, socialists, communists and America haters. Like you, I won't hold my breath for them to take up any conservative cause. Again, I think the station can fire Savage, but the issue is so much larger than that.

My view toward the ACLU?

Same as Savage's! Round 'em up and send them to GITMO!

Wonder how much the ACLU makes nationwide. The organization is almost a fourth branch of government.

LOL...with which they work hand in glove.

The ACLU is having a good week:

State pays ACLU $121500 in Ten Commandments fight
Cincinnati Enquirer, OH - 13 hours ago
FRANKFORT - The state has paid $121,500 to the American Civil
Liberties Union after
the ACLU won a court challenge to a Ten Commandments monument

$12,150 per commandment! Not bad! I'm in the wrong business.

I'd suggest adding commandments, setting them up anonymously, then have the ACLU PAY YOU for taking them down. ;)

Great idea! How about writing a screenplay on Jesus Christ and see if anyone in Hollywood will pay us to destroy the script?

and in Arizona...

AZDAILYSUN.com - ARIZONA DAILY SUN: "ACLU: BIBLE VERSE A VICE AT CANYON" by Seth Miller (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "One of the main trails down into Grand Canyon may carry the name Bright Angel, and a number of the canyon's formations share the names of Hindu gods. But the National Park Service decided that plaques with biblical psalms located in the park violated the Constitution, and removed them on Wednesday. The plaques had been on display for more than 30 years. Maureen Oltrogge, spokeswoman for the Grand Canyon National Park, said that three bronze, religious-oriented plaques are no longer at Hermit's Rest, Lookout Studio and Desertview Tower -- all popular viewing areas for the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. NPS reports show the plaques quoted Psalms 68:4, 66:4 and 104:24 from the Bible.") (July 13, 2003) (Read More...)

That must be a disappointment for the ACLU. The Parks Service caved without a court fight. No legal fees to collect.

Or maybe there is. Be interesting to find out.

This is unbelievable that the ACLU will not pay their own legal bills.

This is big business for the ACLU. A thread from yesterday:

County To Pay For Calling Former Gang Member A Gang Member (Man faces attempted murder charges) ^

The ACLU again, of course.

Something we all should consider is the founding fathers did not escape tyranny to perpetutae another ... we were founded upon God AND religious liberty and defending it is our obligation --- liberals have made God and right and wrong a thought crime and themselves ACLU whacks - our overlords - us slaves !

Watch those senate confirmation hearings and if you publicly state your beliefs and sincerity you are vetted - crucified ... there is supposed to be no religious - ideological special interest test or PLEDGE for office and now the supreme court has established them ... abortion - pornography - evolution - gun control - racial - sexual preferences especially !

Been doing google news searches on "Charles Schumer." He is speaking to homosexual and abortion groups all over telling them he will never allow "extremists" (read: avowed Christians) on the Federal bench.
