NewsMax.com's Fr. Michael Reilly says there may be more than meets the eye behind the U.S. Supreme Court's decision last week in the Texas sodomy case.
As the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Texas' sodomy law continues to generate controversy, Austin Ruse of the Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute reveals a disturbing new element.
The high court used foreign precedents in formulating their decision.
In the majority opinion, Justice Anthony Kennedy referred to a "Friend of the Court" brief submitted by former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson.
"This Court should not decide in a vacuum whether criminalization of same-sex sodomy between consenting adults violates constitutional guarantees of privacy and equal protection," said Robinson.
"Other nations with similar histories, legal systems, and political cultures have already answered these questions in the affirmative. This Court should pay due respect to these opinions of humankind."
Robinson warned also that, "To ignore these precedents virtually ensures that this Court's ruling will generate controversies with the United State's closest global allies."
In his dissent, Justice Antonin Scalia expressly condemned this apparent reliance on foreign precedent, writing, "Constitutional elements do not spring into existence . . . as the Court seems to believe, because foreign nations decriminalize conduct."
Scalia argued that the high court "should not impose foreign moods, fads, or fashions on Americans."
Warns Ruse, "If the Supreme Court continues to be guided by the decisions of the U.N. and the [European Union], U.S. recognition of same-sex marriage could eventually follow suit."

The fact that suddenly instead of the US Constitution the SCOTUS is relying on European opinion means absolutely no part of our Constitution is safe. Free Speech is not as free within the EU as it is here as for advocating certain principles one may be jailed. Every other Freedom is at risk. The Second Ammendment is history under this kind of thinking.

The US Constitution is a subversive document.
The Euro socialists are descendant from an aristocratic doctrine where "rights" are granted by the state and citizens have "duties and obligations".
No longer apparently does the SCOTUS hold to the principle that we have "inalienable" rights, the concept of "compelling interest" of the state has crept into the jargon. Our rights are what "they" decide they are.
I fear as Jefferson once said that soon the tree of liberty will get a fresh dose of fertilizer.

No, no Supreme Court. The UN is not our leader. As a matter of fact; you aren;t either.

This may be the story -
The worlds premier dictators, thieves and liars met in South Africa last summer to trumpet the United Nations Earth Summit on sustainable development and prove to the world that not all pigs look like pigs.
In the shadow of South African grinding poverty and starvation, orchestrated by its criminal Marxist government, the delegates gorged on champagne, caviar, lobster and steak.
The alleged reason for this slob-fest was to help the worlds starving poor and demand that nations use their natural resources wisely.
The real purpose for wallowing in this globalist pigpen was to outline and try to impose a fascist police state on the worlds citizens and nations through the United Nations.
Arriving in chauffered limosines the first day, criminal international bankers, eco-fascists, corrupt heads of corporations and thieving world leaders gorged themselves on fine delicacies and swilled buckets of vintage wines in the shadow of South Africas shantytowns.
The elitists ordered serfs to chop down hundreds of trees to accommodate parking spaces for the limosines, while more eco-fascists poured tons of pollution into the air as they landed in private and chartered jets.
Well-fed food police toting machine guns ringed the area where the belching delegates met, barring starved peons who might crawl into a dumpster to steal a tossed plate of caviar or a used up T-bone steak.
The party-poopers at the London Sun blasted the sickening champagne and caviar lifestyle being enjoyed by Earth Summit delegates. They are gorging on mountains of lobster, oysters and filet steak at the Johannesburg conference. All washed down with the finest wines and champagne.
Money is no object, said head chef Desmond Morgan of the five-star Michelangelo Hotel, whipping up mountains of food for the bloated Earth Summit bigwigs.
Morgan bragged of the delicacies the delegates would feast on - tons of oysters and more than 1,000 pounds of pricey South African lobster and other shellfish, barrels of expensive Russian caviar, 450 pounds of prime filet salmon and 220 pounds of a tasty South African fish called kingclip.
Also included are piles of politically incorrect paté de foie gras, more than 2 tons of the finest choice steak and chicken breasts, and a heaping 1,000 pound pile of Europes best bacon and sausages.
So whos paying the $53 million food bill? The American taxpayer, of course, through our UN dues. Sorry, no doggie bag for you.
Whether they want Beluga caviar, foie gras or bacon sandwiches, we have it all, the chef said proudly.
The chef related that in his experience, heads of state and their criminal masters dont decide until the last minute what they might wish to slobber. So I have to make sure I have everything they can possibly want, said Herr chef.
The hotel built a new kitchen just for the delegates, while the Sultan of Brunei brought in his own cooks, dancing girls and tasters.
This globalist pig-fest was situated in Sandton, the most exclusive suburb in all of Africa. The streets boast fashionable shops, expensive restaurants, classy shopping malls and villas for the elite. Its gated, of course, to keep out starving, useless eaters.
The 20,000 summit delegates, mistresses and hookers from 182 countries guzzled 80,000 bottles of cool, refreshing mineral water during the conference, and 6,000 African children died each day from drinking contaminated water while the swine were in town.

So the SCOTUS is now going to look to Europe to evaluate our 2nd amd?
This is a prescription for civil war. Millions of us will not comply like sheep being led onto a truck.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens when and if the SCOTUS finds no individual RKBA, that's for sure.
