Remember that a donation doesn't have to be large to be significant.

There are tens of thousands of FReepers. If everyone would donate just $1.00 a month, we would never have to have another of these FReepathons.

Are you doing your share?

Last summer during the wave of forest fires, I recall many freepers speculating that it could be terrorist-related. Way ahead of the game as usual.

Totally agree, if we can find them. Are we being too timid in our concern for protecting the innocent?

Anti-CAIR Press Release 015/03

July 11, 2003

- CAIR Sponsors Terrorist Suspect / Link to Al Qaeda Islamic Terrorist Group

CAIR Sponsors Terrorist Suspect / Link to Al Qaeda Islamist Terror Group

While detail checking the federal indictment of eleven Islamist terrorism suspects, ACAIR researchers have found a link between Mr. Randall Royer and Al Qaeda.
On page 15 of the indictment, it is charged that “On or about April 4, 2001, at the residence of IBRAHAM AHMED AL-HAMDI in Alexandria, Virginia, a
visitor representing the Benevolence International Foundation (BIF) discussed a Mujahideen camp in Bosnia with Nabil T. Garbieh and
other conspirators.” The indictment continues: “On or about April 4, 2001, at the residence of IBRAHAM AHMED AL-HAMDI in Alexandria,
Virginia, Nabil T. Garbieh and other conspirators watched videos depicting Mujahideen engaged in Jihad.” In plain language, the
government is alleging that the BIF, an Islamist terrorist supporting organization, held an organized meeting with the conspirators for the
purpose of watching videos of Islamist terrorists in action.

On April 30, 2002, the FBI arrested Mr. Enaam Arnaout of the BIF and charged him with lying about the ties between himself, BIF, and
international terrorism. In Bosnia, troops recovered correspondence between Mr. Arnaout and Mr. Bin Laden - indicating a relationship
between the two that goes back to the 1980’s. This would indicate a connection between the BIF and Al Qaeda, considering that both
Mr. Arnaout and Mr. Bin Laden are the heads of their respective Islamist terror groups and the obvious connection between these
organizations. Note: Mr. Arnaout has since pleaded guilty to defrauding donors to BIF and using the funds to purchase uniforms and
boots for Islamist terrorists in Chechnya as well as purchasing uniforms for Islamist Bosnian troops. The sentencing of Mr. Arnaout had
been scheduled for Monday, 7 July, but questions regarding his ties to terrorism must be settled first.

ACAIR firmly believes that the conspirators’ alleged meeting with a BIF representative; the proven ties between BIF and Al Qaeda, Mr. Randall Royers connection to the Council on American
Islamic Relations (CAIR) all point to the inescapable conclusion that CAIR, at least, colludes and operates with terrorists and at most, actively supports Islamist terrorism. ACAIR awaits the
conclusion of the conspirators’ trial, and if the connection is proven, we look forward to the closing of the CAIR organization in the United States.

How many of the top leadership of CAIR must be indicted on terrorism charges before the federal government begins to take a close look at the activities of CAIR? ACAIR reminds our readers that
Mr. Bassem Khafagi, CAIR’s director of community relations was arrested in January, 2003 and Mr. Siraj Wahhaj, CAIR Advisory Board member was named as “one of the unindicted persons who
may be alleged as co-conspirator” in the plot to blow up monuments in New York City several years ago. In addition, Mr. Eshan Eleshyi (AKA “Elashi”) has been arrested for continuing illegal sales
of computer equipment to Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan. He had previously been arrested for illegally shipping computer equipment to Libya
and Syria, both well-known Islamist terror - supporting nations. Why is Mr. Eleshyi significant? He is one of four founders of CAIR-Texas.
In addition, his brothers Ishan, Bayan, Basman and Hazim are involved with Infocom, the web hosting company that has been investigated
for hosting Islamist terrorism related web sites.

It has become apparent that America is under assault from CAIR and it is time that we, the American people, demand a strong response from our
government. It is long past time for an active investigation of CAIR, its leadership and principal members and their ties to Islamist terror.
ACAIR believes that both federal and state investigative authorities are reluctant to seriously investigate CAIR due to their well-known
tactic of labeling anyone who questions them, or Islamist terror, as “Islamophobic”. Once and for all, the question must be asked of CAIR:
“Are you with us in the fight against Islamist terror, or are you on the side of the terrorists?” This is not an unfair question and it is long
past time that CAIR backed up its so-called “pro-America” rhetoric with cold, hard facts, not terrorist propaganda designed to denigrate
any non-Fundamentalist Muslim group or person.

Finally, ACAIR questions if a Christian or Jewish group was thought to be supporting terrorism, would the response of our government be the same? We ask the government to apply the same
investigative thoroughness that they would use against a Church or Synagogue suspected of supporting terrorists…nothing more, nothing less.

...and once it was realized that the fires were terrorist acts, U.S. citizens would put pressure on the U.S. government to change its policies," the memo said.

That's true.

The policy change would be eradication of terrorists.

I am sure most Freepers can think of a very easy low budget, terrorist operation involving only 2 persons that could paralyze parts of a city.

I would not suggest any ideas on the Internet lest it happens, and you would never know if your idea was picked up by the terrorists.

Your right; we need to take the battle to them.(Muslims) -Tom

Actually a pretty clever tactic. Doesn't get much cheaper. How much does a book of matches cost? You can wait for the papers to give you a "damage estimate" in dollars and chalk it up as a victory to your supporters.

But the terrorist thugs still don't get it: all their attacks will ever do is make us more determined to crush their evil. Why do they think they can bully us? Because Arafat and his thugs get their way in Israel? Well, that has got to come to a stop too. Someone out there somewhere has an "assasination" with Arafat's name all over it.

Bump for the truth! I refuse to even mention the numerous scenarios where the US is vulnerable. Thanks for doing the same. Look out evil-doers your days are numbered. :-)

"America's national forests have been targeted before. On Sept. 9, 1942, a plane launched from a Japanese submarine flew over Oregon's forests dropping incendiary bombs. "

I had never read this before, and was not aware the Japanese had carried out any attacks on the continental US.

Another thing I have been told by numerous people but also have not read in any history text is that the Japanese had developed swimmer manned torpedos to detonate in (presumnably the locks) of the panama canal, but they were launched too far out and were captured by the US.

I have also been told there was a scare about a japanese airborne unit which missed the canal area and landed in chiriqui and was arrested (presumably by americans)...an older worker on one of the canal zone bases with very asiatic facial features was in the interior and rounded up at that time as well (He told the story so, when I was younger), so there was certainly a scare, but I don't know whether there was actually a japanese airborne drop.

Not a new idea, here is information on the Jap Forest Fire campaign from WW2. Information and illustration here copied from info at US Air Force Museum web-site. "From November 3, 1944 to April 1945, the Japanese launched 9,000 balloons carrying small 33-pound (15-kilogram) incendiary bombs over the Pacific Ocean in the hope that the winds would carry them to the United States. These were called the Fu-Go Weapon, and supposedly were a revenge bomb for the 1942 Doolittle raids on Tokyo. It is estimated that nearly 1,000 bomb-bearing balloons reached North America, landing in 16 U.S. States, Alaska, Canada, and Mexico. The last one found in North America was in Alaska in 1955—its payload still lethal. It was picked up by a 74th Air Rescue Squadron H-5 helicopter crew from Ladd Air Force Base near Fairbanks, Alaska. Only six Americans were known to have died from balloon bombs. On May 5, 1945, a balloon bomb exploded and killed Elsie Mitchell and five children near Lakeview, Oregon. Although these bombs were psychologically effective, the U.S. press didn't publish news of them to prevent the Japanese from learning of the effect they had on the American people."

"The detainee believed that significant damage to the U.S. economy would result and once it was realized that the fires were terrorist acts, U.S. citizens would put pressure on the U.S. government to change its policies," the memo said.

They were right.

A senior al-Qaida detainee told federal investigators he had developed a plan to set midsummer forest fires in Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming, according to the document, obtained by The Arizona Republic.

Oh good grief..... They don't have to set forest fires..... God does a pretty good job of that every year. Always has, always will.

The al-Qaida (Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council) detainee told investigators that his plan called for three or four operatives to travel to the United States and set timed explosive devices in forests and grasslands. The devices would be set to detonate after the operatives had left the country.

I think the above highlited enviro/nazis have done far more damage to our forests than Al Qaida ever could.

Thanks for posting this.

This part of the article is incredible:

"The Forest Service took note of the warning, a spokeswoman said, but didn't really change any of its policies or operating patterns.

"In fact, many forest law enforcement officers contacted by The Republic had no idea the warning had been issued at all.

"It goes along with the rest of the alerts," said Rose Davis, a spokeswoman for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho. "It's a reminder to be vigilant. We hope the public is, too. If you see something suspicious in an airport, report it. Likewise, if you see something suspicious in a forest, report it."

"But neither the interagency fire center nor the Forest Service chose to report the warning to the public. The decision to release the information was up to the FBI. A spokeswoman for the bureau's Denver office, which drew up the memo, declined to comment.

Sounds like the Watermelon Druids in the Forestry Service left over from the Clintoonscum era decided not tell the
people under them about this potential threat.

This just shows that they're not very bright, Japan tried the same thing with these really cool baloon bombs, had almost zero effect. What's the functional difference between finding out a fire was started by a dumb ass and finding out it was started by a nut job?
