So glad to hear from you, Glenn...take care of yourself...don't read the news...at least for awhile and spend time with those you love.

I made it and believe you all made a difference. Still have a road ahead that looks
a little rocky, but at least it is a road ahead.
Sorry I didn't see your start of this thread. I'm VERY happy to hear you're
still in the game.
I've had a couple "make or break" medical situations in my life and I'll just pass along
my idiosyncratic views about making it over these "high mountain passes".
1. As a lily-white guy, I feel a bit sheepish about two of my favorite phrases
from some of our African-American friends...that apply to these times:
a) "Unmerited suffering is redemptive" -- Martin Luther King Jr.
b) "Keep the faith, baby!" -- maybe that was from Stokley Carmichael...
2. Don't let your brush with eternity pass without some notice/change.
When we look over the edge into the abyss and get pulled back...make sure it means something.
I'm no preacher/pastor/priest...but make I recommend you get right with some
higher power and make the changes you've probably always wanted to make.
I ain't preachin' at ya. It's just that one of the persons I've know with the
greatest native intelligence is a Catholic fellow who got through his undergrad degree in
3 years, his PhD in cancer biology at Stanford in 3 years, then got
his M.D. at UCLA and went on to work in oncology at Stanford.
He told me how he wasn't quite prepared when he gave the "bad news" to some of his
patients...because the reaction of some of these a-religional California sophisticates
was not to ask about how they would die...but what would happen to them AFTER they
died.
So, I ain't tellin' you what to do about the rest of your day (and beyond)...
just passing on some observations I've had over my decades (good and bad).
End of sermon. Now, welcome back and have yourself a good time!

On the bright side, people who post opus threads always come back in a day or two. :-)Like clockwork! Bless you, Glenn!

On the bright side, people who post opus threads always come back in a day or two. :-)It wasn't an "opus". It was a Swan Song. Start a Swan Song list. I demand it!
See...
I really am back.
