FWIW, I do agree with you that there's no meaningful connection between Saddam Hussein and September 11th. That being said, I have no dispute with the premise that Saddam Hussein needed to be removed from power; nor with the general idea that Iraq, the people of Iraq, and the Middle East overall will be all the better for it; nor with the idea that the Ba'athist regime represented a very genuine long-term threat to the United States. Nonetheless, I find aspects of the conduct & context of the recent war quite problematic, as I've frequently made clear around FR.

Whatever the case, good luck on your stay, however brief that might prove..

I heartily disagree about the bush administration. The physical evidence out there (flamers: do your own homework, please, it's not very difficult to find the facts) more than underlines the dangers of these fools. Heck, they can't even run their self-proclaimed empire correctly. Even Rome tried to take care of its own citizens.

Hussein was pretty incapable of hurting us. Would he if he'd had a chance? Sure! But could he? As the truth now coming out reveals, hardly.

Thanks again for the solid reply. You give me hope that honest dialogue can happen on both sides.
