Don't be silly, God made a promise to Abraham regarding his decendents. We honor that promise.

It has nothing to do with how deserving or how good the members of that race are. They aren't even a race I don't suppose, they are called out. Often they have not lived up to their calling. But I can't think of anyone that has lived up to their calling completely. It has more to do with keeping God's word and honoring the fact that He chose this people to send Christ through. He made promises to them, we honor and uphold those promises, and will do nothing to undermine them.
