Police found a trail of blood going out of the house and for about half a block on a sidewalk on Meagher.
They believe the robber was wounded. Ya think?
Maybe he had a nosebleed. << roll eyes >>

They believe the robber was wounded. Please! A little decorum here!
That's "alleged robber" and "allegedly wounded".
On second thought, replace "alleged robber" with "alleged suspect".
Dang! I'm listening to too much "Cops".

Way to go, Memphis!
Now it will be interesting to see how long it takes the rest of the bad guys in the city to figure out that invading homes there may not be a good idea.

It sounds like the good ol' Overton Park Zoo has expanded into the general population of Memphis.

.32-caliber black revolver.....
Is this a racist anti gun statement?
Is the rate of burglar deaths approaching the number of Persian Gulf War I dead? It seems to be.

However, police on Tuesday charged Joseph Jones Jr., 22, with two counts of reckless endangerment after he fired six blasts from a 12-gauge shotgun at a man he caught breaking into his shed..... Jones didn't hit the burglar.....Jones deserves to have the book thrown at him.

That's when Schaefer reached into her china cabinet and pulled a .32-caliber black revolver Ahhh... one of those evil black revolvers.
The only mistake this lady made was not using something bigger than a .32

This was a common burglary, not a home invasion.
Most home invasion robberies go unreported as the victims are immigrants who won't call police for fear of being arrested and or deported. Since they can't have bank accounts, the illegals keep their cash on hand. The home invasion robbers, typically neighborhod gang members know this and periodically stage one of these invasions.
Persons on means based public assistance having side cash jobs are also the victims as they too have to keep their cash on hand and will be reluctant to notify authorities.
Only occationally do the robbers accidentally storm into the home of people who are clean in the eyes of the law and it is those few cases that actually make it to the evening news.
All that having been said, I always thought a compact .22mag revolver would be a good ladies gun or backup weapon.

How many times have I got to say it? Memphis has become a cesspool full of crime and criminals. I think the Memphis police underreport the crime and gang fights. I remember a few years ago a gunfight broke out at the Mid South Fair between gangs and thousands THOUSANDS of people were there to see it and it went unreported by the police and the Commic Appeal. It was reported in our little local newspaper in Corinth, Ms, because there were dozens of folks from the area there to see it.

Anybody remember the movie "Red Dawn" where the russians parachute in and take over the country? Mr Grammy and I watched that and said "not in Tennessee". Almost everybody here is armed.

No one needs a gun...
until the need one, then they really need one.

He failed to get the gun, but Schaefer was cut on her left knuckle during the struggle. She declined medical assistance. This is very sad. Get well soon, ma'am!

Sounds like the working environment for burglers is kinda tough in the Memphis area. Were is the OSHA when you need them? :) Maybe the crooks will go on strike for better working conditions?
