MSNBC: Alleged (Kobe Byrant) Victim seen bragging at a party 3 days later
MSNBC.COM ^ | 7/22/03 | MSNBC

Posted on 07/22/2003 8:20:57 AM PDT by Smogger

I just saw it on MSNBC. They said she was at a party a week ago, 3 days before Kobe was charged.

They said she was drinking (consumption by a minor) and playing cards, and was bragging about.....(MSNBC took out the audio at the end of sentence)

The story was confirmed by 5 people at separate places and times who were at the party and all gave a similar account of what happened.

When asked how the girl looked, the guy interviewed said she looked happy. Everyone was shocked to see her at the party given the incident.

I think someone may have even asked how hung was Kobe upon which she described with hand gestures. She seemed to be bragging according to a friend, but said she couldn't tell them what happened that night.

This just keeps getting better and better...

When she said it wasn't about the money was the key that told me it was about the money.

Uh, a friend of hers was quoted as saying that. And its no wonder someone said it since half the people here say she's a "gold digging biotch", to quote you.

There is a big difference between knowingly filing a FALSE allegation against someone and the jury aquiting someone.

I agree that if a rape allegation turns out to be false, then the accuser should go to jail.

Oh, but the girl's background is untouchable according to her (bimbo) friends' interview with Rita Cosby the other day. If I recall the phrase correctly, "she's FLAWLESS".

Except when she id OD'ing or boozing.

Let me see...MSNCB is usually seen as a source lacking credibilty by many on this site, but in this case it has the absolute truth. Nope, lots of flotsama nd jetsam is going to be passing the media on this case.

the girl could just be an unstable attention-seeking wacko

I posted this on a thread yesterday, but really haven't seen it discussed much.

The link below is the transcript of MSNBC's Abrams Report when Dan Abrams was interviewing two of the accuser's friends:

MSNBC...Abrams Report...Friends of Kobe's alleged victim speak on her behalf

Look at this question by Abrams:

..excerpt..

ABRAMS: Janelle Medina, a high school classmate says, "I've known her for eight years. I don't believe she's telling the truth. She always had to be the center of attention. She wants a spotlight on her all the time. She told me once that she'd do anything it took to get famous, and I think this is just a publicity stunt for her, something for her to get money and for her to get fame." I don't know if you know her, but you heard what she said. What do you make of that statement?

The girl's answered that the girl mentioned didn't really know the accused well. Ironically, later in the interview the girls said they really weren't close friends of the accused, rather they knew her from music trips.

Wow, I'm still missing the point of that post.. and your latest one, too. However, thanks for the reminder to pay my bills... I was wondering if I was going to have to pay those.

and her actions immediately after the fact seem to indicate that she had not volunteered for sex.

You mean the 12 hour delay between the alleged incident and the notification of police?

Just one question for you: How is MSNBC finding out about all of these people? Who's sending them where?

This is straight from the Clinton playbook -- sounds like something Terry Lenzner might do.

Your unwillingness even to contemplate the possibility that the Lakers would protect their bottom line with a little character assassination says a whole lot about you.

I'm glad others do see this. The Lakers and Kobe will end up spending millions, I guarantee you, to keep him from being convicted. This is a textbook case of character assassination. I don't think I have ever seen this much "dirt" reported on an unknown accuser this quickly. I have a feeling that when this is all said and done, the accuser may be suing a few media outlets.

It'll all come out. 19 year old girls need to stay away from married men.

Woman is root of all evil. I believe that is paraphrasing the BIBLE.

Does she go to jail too just because the DA was unable to do his job well enough or because the rapist was able to afford a big shot attorney to twist and distort the case enough to raise "reasonable doubt"?

Please feel free to do a search on 'wrongful rape convictions' and tell these men who failed to prove themselves innocent; that the system is just. There is case after case of a 'rape' that consists of a woman who changed her mind the next morning. Or, of the woman who is pregnant and doesn't want to get her boyfriend in trouble, so she accuses someone else. Or, just extortion.

In the case of Kobe Bryant, this girl waited nearly 2 weeks before crying rape. No medical evidence whatsoever. What happened, did she fail to get pregnant (18 years of a lavish lifestyle being the mother of a celebrity kid) and extortion didn't work??

I can't stop myself from reading these threads ... it's like a national Rorschach test, with everyone seeing what's already in their minds ... or a bunch of people, including me, all watching video of a plane crash or bridge collapse over and over, hoping it will turn out differently this time ...

Bit of a stretch. Whatever her actions "immediately after the fact" were (and I don't know), did they include calling the cops immediately? If so, why did Bryant have to fly back to Colorado for booking? This happened at approximately midnight, right? So did she sleep on it?

I'm one person who is gleefully commenting on this story with absolutely no compunction about admitting I haven't the foggiest idea what happened. But I haven't read or heard anything that would lead me to believe that her actions "immediately after the fact" were in any way standard operating procedure for rape victims.

Neal Boortz proposed yesterday, because of the high percentage of rape allegations that are false that a law should be passed that if you accuse someone of rape falsely, you go to jail for the amount of time the wrongly accused would have served if convicted.

I like the idea and fully support it.

Bears repeating.

Like Jim Rome says, when someone says it's not about the money, it's about the money. Puleese people I know many of you desperately cling to your Jim Crow view of the world but I don't think we need a lynchin just yet. I realize your white girl got involved with a black man but puleese keep the rope in the shed, k.
