President Bush, flanked by Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Gen. Richard B. Myers, and U.S. Administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer, spoke this morning in the White House Rose Garden regarding the killing of the monstrous sons of Saddam Hussein, Uday and Qusay yesterday, and the positive effect it would have on the Iraqi people, and citing the great progress that has been made by the Coalition Forces in Iraq.

Later in the morning he welcomed former President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, and Argentine President Nestor Kirchner in the Oval Office. He also found time to honor the Presidential Medal of Honor recipients in the East Room, including Vaclav Havel, Van Cliburn, John Wooden, Roberto Clemente, Dave Thomas and Charleston Heston.

(Looking at Heston's pictures last night reminded me about how angry I get at Michael Moore. I needed to end my "day" by looking up Heston's body of work so I can celebrate the truth, and forget about the distortions.)

There was a storm front that came through the Memphis area Tuesday Morning, and wiped out power for roughly 70% of the city. Maigrey Manor and Maigrey's Mother Manor live in the other 30% of the city. So, we still have power and utilities. I'm heading out after breakfast to see if my other family needs anything.

The city is estimating that it will take another 5 - 7 days for everyone to get their power back. (provided the number of individual outages aren't numerous...)

Paul Bremer on C-Span yesterday talking about the Iraqui infrastructure said that the need for electricity in Iraq is terribly low. He gave the numbers but can't remember. Don't think they will take kindly to our troops using electricity they desperately need.
