Parents: White Teacher Should Not Teach Black History
NewsNet5 Cleveland/Akron ^ | July 27, 2003

OBERLIN, Ohio -- A group of parents said they will fight a possible decision to allow a white teacher to lead classes in black history at Oberlin High School.

NewsChannel5 reported that the parents said using a white teacher would send the wrong message to black students.

A scheduling conflict could cause the district to reassign the black teacher who has taught the course for seven years.

The parents have protested the move to the school board, but the district's superintendent has not commented on the case.

Parents: White Teacher Should Not Teach Black History

AGreed. In fact, there is no reason to teach black history in high school. College as an elective - no credit, but not high school. American history, State history, yes.

I aint be belives this crapola.

BAD example of whitey doing ebonics, prolly' the worst ev'er.

You got the first part co-rect, "I aint", but un punctuated correctly. Ain't always is apostrophied. Similar to cain't din't and weren't.

The next phrase is confused, "be belives", is a mixed metafore, true examples and proper usage are: ".. be beliven, and been beliven. I think the correct usage of your verberage in this instance should have been "be beliven" or in an alternet, due to dialectrics, "be belivens", as to the severatoracity of the iterdiction.

Talk it out, "I ain't be beliven...or, "I ain't been beliven...

White girl, pelease!!!!Crapola? What was you thinking. You was down with it (almost), actually not even close, then "crapola" you just had to say that!

That snaged my ebonic mouth like a salmon to a flasher on a very tired and depressed stripper? Crapola? Sh#T!.

The correct ebonics as you wrote it is, "I ain't be beliven this s***. >

If any one has my ebonics translation of (i think) Al gore played in St Louis, Kansas City. I would love a copy.

actually its now if you are not a socialist you are not a real teacher at ANY level of the education stream. k-univeristy.

The left is working hard to make socialism a perpetual lock in universities. I can't wait to see what happens when the 60 rejects of the universities finally die or retire.

Well, "black" history is not a subject to begin with, and it should not be taught by anybody.

This includes white people, so these parents are 80% right.

Oh, come now, is it really so hard to believe they could be this brazenly racist?

Well, once you concede the existence of something called "black history" as a coherent and cohesive body of knowledge, you have already assumed the mental state that permits such teaching assignments.

A similar thing happened to me. I volunteered for four years in New Haven, CT teaching tennis to inner-city kids. The fifth year I was not invited back. I found out later that they only wanted minority coaches even though about ten percent of the kids were white. The program fell apart two years later.

Oh, comrade, did you miss your lesson at the last indoctrination class?

The one that says that black peoples are not capable of racism.

“African-American” activists have separated “black” history from History, meaning that what is left must be – by default – “white” history.
By inference, Black teachers should not teach any “white” history?

... blacks tend to believe that there is need to teach black history because the rest of history is "white." if this is the case, is it inappropriate to have a black teacher teach "white" history?

Important point, well made!

Why exactly did Ohio feel the need to have black history classes?

Can you imagine the sh** storm we'd get if I proposed we teach a class in White History at the local high school? I'd be labled a racist before I even got the complete sentence out of my mouth!
