They are simply caught in the process of trying to become citizens, which can take between seven and 21 years.Oh, it's a "process" now, is it? One illegally enters our country and then has the total audacity to b*tch that they're not getting financial aid?! Unbelievable. I ask, instead, why the f*cking INS is not knocking on their doors RIGHT NOW!? I know what it takes to become a citizen (I did it), and, yes, it's a long, expensive process. But, it's worth it. But when I see crap like this, it makes me wonder why I did it at all. Not because I doubt my country; rather, just some of the idiots within it...

I read somewhere that in California there is a proposal to make "wealthy" parents pay more for their children to go to Universities. Who do you think this will subsidize? Is this fair? I admire people who come here through legal channels. It must really p_________ you off big time to read this kind of stuff.

You were not one of those, evidently, that Clinton rushed and swore in before his election.
I do so admire those who are here legally. I have no feelings nor an obligation to aliens.
Methinks, President Bush should take heed of our conserns. But, perhaps he has already.

All it takes to be an "American" now is to sneak across the border in the middle of the night, disregard the laws of the nation, tatoo "VICTIM" on your forehead and whine to a guilt-riddled advocacy group for assistance. That is what being an "American" is these days -- looking to government (or entitlement due to your victim status) to get you where you want to be.

What pisses me off is that I had to jump through hoops to get my F.A. for college - and I'm a Native!!!
They wanted my proof of income (I'm fine with that) to show I was in need. They wanted my parents proof of income (I'm not fine with that) to show why they couldn't pay for college for me. I don't even live with my parents, and I don't expect them to pay for my school for that very reason. Then becuase of my age (22), I had to PROVE that I wasn't getting any help from my parents at all - I basically had to disown them by writing a letter stating that there was "no contact" between us. I had to bring them copies of utility bills, auto insurance, car title, all this B.S. to PROVE financial independence.
And these illegals think they can just skate in and expect money to be handed to them??
*GrrrRRRrrrRRR....*

Of all the things which chap me off about illegal immigration, what galls me the most is that it spits in the face of every decent person who has or is attempting to immigrate here legally.
I've known scores of decent foreigners who aspired to become Americans and must jump hurdle after hurdle doing things such as proving they have clean criminal records, needed skills, financial means or ambition not to become a ward of the state, etc., etc. This process can take years. Those who simply crash through the border and claim their entitlements (and our stupid society which puts up with it) tells all those aspiring Americans who were born elsewhere that they're fools for following the rules.
