Sometimes Debka is Right, other times it's wrong.

I felt however that I should put this in breaking because Debka sometimes breaks stories.

Also I felt that this is the first Report I've seen that describes what David Kay's Team might be finding in Iraq.

If even half of the stuff in this article is true, It will comepletely blow the "Yellowcakers" (ie "No Balls" Matthews, Joe Wilson, France, etc) out of the water.

True! I've been reading Debka long enough to know that I'm going to wait for backup.

If even HALF this stuff is correct, it has the potential to destroy the democrats.

Hmmm, you don't sound like a n00b. You should know this doesn't belong in breaking news regardless.

Please do not quote *anything* from debka as a realiable source.

Their "Debka source" consists of a magic 8 ball, and little more.

When Debka breaks a story like this it's 50-50 whether their assertions are true.

Lets hope this is part of the 50% that's based on fact.

I hope people also read the part about Bush's 16 words in the SOTU addressabouttheIraq-NIger deal:

"Our Washington sources now reveal that, according to the new data reaching the White House from “very friendly” intelligence services operating in Africa, the US president got it right the first time. Saddam’s agents had indeed gone on a uranium purchasing mission to a number of African countries on the dates mentioned.

What went wrong was that the documentary evidence - handed to Bush by Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi in confidence, as DEBKA-Net-Weekly now reveals, had been doctored by anti-American, anti-war factions in Italian intelligence in such a way that it would be discovered and appear to be fabricated. They plotted to bring the three war leaders into disrepute by manipulating them into committing an untruth while also souring the warm relations between the Italian prime minister and the White House.

The identities of the Italian intelligence plotters were at the center of the two days of private talks held by Bush and Berlusconi at the presidential ranch in Crawford, Texas July 20 and 21. The Italian prime minister brought with him the results of a private investigation. DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s intelligence sources reveal that the agents who falsified the intelligence documents were also involved in staging the mass anti-war demonstrations that swept across Europe ahead of the American invasion of Iraq and accompanied the UN Security Council war debate.

They worked with accomplices in Russian, British, French, Dutch and German intelligence and allies in Africa in an anti-coalition front."

Also I felt that this is the first Report I've seen that describes what David Kay's Team might be finding in Iraq.

The first clue that I saw was Tom Brokjaw's interview with David Kay in Iraq a couple of weeks ago. Kay at that time said that he had enough evidence of WMD to satisfy himself but that he knew that he had to satisfy everybody.

It's coming. And evidence of that will be the lack of DemocRATs talking about the lack of finding WMD. Perhaps the DemocRAT Senators and Representatives will not talk about what went on in the closed hearings the other day, but you can bet your ass that they are passing the word to their party members - don't complain about the lack of WMD evidence.

Thanks for finding this and posting it. Very interesting. Debka can miss the mark at times, but can we say it's less accurate than Reuters (i.e., the fake Pfc. Lynch story), the New York Times (Blair & co.), or the network news (quagmire, Bush lied, etc.)? Oddly enough, I don't see anyone complaining when something is posted from those "sources."

Debka as a source?
If it's lasted this long, they must be saying just what someone thinks needs to be to heard.

I believe Debka like I believe Joe Isuzu.

However, the one thing I find interesting is that Joe Wilson has been downplaying things of late, and backing off his assaults on the administration. So something is up.

After researching the White House website on Iraq and finding tons of information our media elites have ignored, I would tend to believe Debka more than the NY Times and others.

Believe Kay has found the WMD motherlode so to speak in Iraq and we are a short time away from its announcement. Sen Roberts (R-KS) is not one to go public about Iraq and the items about to be announced unless there is substantial evidence. I have heard him several times allude to information that will be coming out! Unlike the DemocRATs he does not go into details although the details from the RATs usually turn out to be lies!

They are pinpointing unmarked mass graves scattered around Iraq from which more than 300,000 bodies of Saddam’s victims have thus far been disinterred.

The article confuses upper end estimates with actual disinterments, I believe.

Debka serves but one purpose for me: to send its material to the Leftists who are always quoting Debka as if it were The Word of God whenever Debka posts something in accordance with their narrow world view.

Other than that, I take Debka's reports with a 5-lb bag of rock salt.

While I tend to agree with you, I have found a couple of paragraphs regarding Berlosconi that I found particularly facinating.

Does anybody remember the hoopla over Bill Clinton calling in to the Larry King Show (a special for Bob Dole)?? Well, there was a lot of speculation about WHY x42 had called and appeared to be supporting Bush about the yellowcake.

Well .. my theory was that x42 did his little phone-in to tell the democrats TO SHUT UP about the yellowcake stuff because if they kept on digging and investigating, they were going to find x42's fingerprints all over it. Of course, x42 didn't say that on the air - but that was just the impression I got when I heard what x42 said.

Hmmm? Now, to get to the DEBKA report - which I agree always requires a grain of salt .. read the following 2 paragraphs and see if you also agree x42's fingerprints are all over it:

"What went wrong was that the documentary evidence - handed to Bush by Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi in confidence, as DEBKA-Net-Weekly now reveals, had been doctored by anti-American, anti-war factions in Italian intelligence in such a way that it would be discovered and appear to be fabricated. They plotted to bring the three war leaders into disrepute by manipulating them into committing an untruth while also souring the warm relations between the Italian prime minister and the White House."

"The identities of the Italian intelligence plotters were at the center of the two days of private talks held by Bush and Berlusconi at the presidential ranch in Crawford, Texas July 20 and 21. The Italian prime minister brought with him the results of a private investigation. DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s intelligence sources reveal that the agents who falsified the intelligence documents were also involved in staging the mass anti-war demonstrations that swept across Europe ahead of the American invasion of Iraq and accompanied the UN Security Council war debate."

The final sentence regarding the intel agents really gives a good clue who was involved in this fiasco: "They worked with accomplices in Russian, British, French, Dutch and German intelligence and allies in Africa in an anti-coalition front."

If x42 was warned by some of his pals (France, Germany, Russia), certainly he wouldn't want the Senate to press for an investigation - which might reveal x42 was involved in the forgery.

While I'm not a conspiracy nut kind of person - I was distressed to watch x42 jaunt around the country seeking the company of Bush's enemys (France, Germany, Canada) at a time when we were preparing for war. If there really was a plan to discredit Bush, Blair and Howard, I cannot think of any other person who had more to gain than x42 (through Hillary being elected president). And .. as we learned from Carville's latest memo .. the 1st item on the list is "destroy the President's credibility".

What I want to know is - exactly how much information is contained in the report from Berlusconi (which he gave to Bush at the ranch)? .. enough to connect x42 ..?? I wonder if x42 thought there might be a hint of evidence implicating him and x42 thought he would go on national TV and pretend to support Bush - expecting Bush would return the favor and not expose x42. Remember, x42 never does anything which does not benefit him.

Interesting ..??

And .. I agree .. if even half of this stuff is true the democrats are out of business for probably 40 years.
