Your reaction has been the most common one on most every anime chatboard I have visited. They are doing a big budget production of EVA, much of which will go to the New Zealand based WETA imaging company that gave us LOTR: The Twin Towers' Battle of Helm's Deep.

Trigun rocks. Never got into Bebop. Have you seen Berserk? By far one of the best serious stories I've seen. It's what I wished Princess Mononoke was. I'd stack it up against live action movies. My only complaint is they didn't keep the main character's name (Gatsu) and gave him an American name (Guts).

Lupin is poorly drawn, but funny. .hack//Sign is ok. A lot of talking and not much action though.

Natch, none of these approach the finest anime of all time, Cowboy Bebop, but they are wonderful efforts in and of themselves.

Aye, there are many good animes out there, but Cowboy Bebop is in a class by itself -- VERY well done. If they were all of that caliber I'd be spending a lot more time watching the stuff. The Cowboy Bebop series is what got my girlfriend hooked on anime.

Gundam X is pretty good, but it's still standard fare stuff

yea but you have to admit, X's satellite cannon,whoa buddy if only we had those now,the war on terror would be done with and with very pleasing results

as for 0079 i didnt care for it..for some reason it just wasnt as cool,probably because of the age

btw im turning my usual night of anime watching down tonight because im watching the metallica biography and even though lars urlich is really ticking me off as of late i love the band,

another good series is trigun its not a very typical anime but its still pretty cool to watch specially a preist with a cross for a gun (looks like a republican to me lol)

Gundam 08th MS team was good,mostly because the story line was much more realistic than it was for W,X,G and a couple others,and it wasnt nearly as long as the other gundam franchises

i hate yaoi as well,specially the way they threw into gundam wing,that series alone is what got me into anime for the most part..and after discovering about all the homo parts of it i have to admit its hard to watch quatre going nuts over trowa's well-being..it just leaves that eerie feeling with you (espcially since im a homophobe like you wouldnt believe)

btw in the unedited version of gundam X theres alot of yaoi in mostly between the 2 vulture pilots...just because of that i almost didnt watch the first 3 episodes of it..but the versions i got ahold of didnt have any of the yaoi in and thankfully so

btw anyone know what happend to freeper pyro780? he was a huge anime fan...havent seen or heard from him in months,hope he didnt get banned

oh and chris? you think i would like ghost in the shell?
