I took this photo last summer near Sonora, Texas, on I-10, where the interstate cut through this mountain. The flag, flying so high above us, was just overwhelmingly beautiful!

Some great stuff here to save. Don't forget Palo Duro Canyon...Charles Goodnight...Larry McMurtry...The Last Picture Show and the fact that the Amarillo Club Dining Room is the highest restaurant east of Denver...(31st Floor of the Bank One Building) plus Amarillo's 3700' elevation.
'Course, there just may be a sno-cone or donut stop up there in the Davis Mtns that you ran across sneaking out of camp...

Its where me and the Misses hung out on our honeymoon. We've gone back every year, staying at the Gruene Mansion Inn next door. If ya ain't been there yet....TYA!!!!
