This man is so greedy he will watch the church destroyed for his own gratification.

Of course, that was the plan all along...

This is why my wife and I are what we like to call BUSH BABTISTS. Meaning we worship god on our own as freemen in the great outdoors. All of the churches have been turning away from the Bible.

No, in everyday church life we don't have to compromise. I have always had good Christian priests ... no exceptions ... and we have had wonderful Bishops in the Dallas diocese.

If you just don't think about the leadership, you are okay.

I really regret that so much of our money goes to them, but ....

>>I know one Episcopal Bishop who is celibate and is also a Roman Catholic monk.

These are mutually exclusive. Odds are he was ordained in the German Catholic (another schism) Church as many Episcopalians Priests are. The German Church has apostolic lineage while many Episcopalian Bishops do not. These priests who get ordained in both churches are hedging there bets.

But that is an empty threat because I cannot see living without my church of 30 years.

You already are living without your church of 30 years. Its been infiltrated and stolen. Good luck to you.

Guenevere - go back and read my note......it began with "I'm not"............ you asked why I'm still with this church and I replied "I'm not".......and No, I wouldn't have had to compromise anything because our congregation did not have a gay minister, did not vote for gay ministers, and we continued to worship just as we always had while the debates and voting were being held all across the country - If we still lived in Texas we WOULD still be a part of that congregation. My relationship with God is my own - the Church I attend is merely the vessel......

Yes, but don't forget that many of the Presbyterian USA congregations are also conservative

True enough, but if anyone jumps from the Episcopal Church to the PCUSA, they are going to have to go through this again in a few years. If they are going to jump, they might as well go somewhere that is at least a generation away from this path.

The whole affair is scripturally untenable; no amount of rationalization or attempts to re-write the NT (or the OT for that matter) will be accepted by the main-stream Christian. A practicing homosexual is anathema to Christianity.

That is true of the hierarchy but not of many, many Episcopal churches and diocese.

Why should we let THEM force us out???

WOW! This is surely a sign of something bad. As soon as I come up with 99 reasons why this is bad I'm gonna write 'em up and nail 'em to the door of the church.

That's a good point..

This man must know the people he will cause to stumble and the havok he will wreak on the church because of his sexual behavior.. He just doesn't care.

It appears to be all about him and his penis now..

As a Catholic, I weep to see the straits in which the Episcopal Church finds itself. Hopefully, our Church will take heed and expell the homo-clergy before we end up with a similar spectacle.

Of course, we already have homo-bishops (and maybe a homo-cardinal or two), but they still don't dare come out because if they do, they're out. Hopefully the Vatican's latest statement on the impropriety of gay "marriages" will smoke a few more of them out.
