[history]
Arnold Schwarzenegger dropped a political bomb tonight. He announced that he will run for governor of California.
"There is a total disconnect with the people of California and the politicians of California,'' Schwarzenegger told Jay Leno on the ""Tonight Show."

He has played this incredibly skillfully.Yep, he waited until the Dems virtually abandoned Davis before jumping in, thereby avoiding the guv's slime machine, for the most part.
Trouble is now he'll drown out the better GOP candidates.

Total surprise. Nobody saw THAT one coming.
Practically everybody figured Arnold had to duck out on the race, and shape his announcement accordingly.

I live in California. I had planned on voting for McClintock. Now I don't know who to vote for. We sure don't want another Democrat (or Independent). I would love to hear from other California voters.
Arnold is very liberal when it comes to social issues. I suspect he would support ID cards for illegial aliens. However, I want some one to win who is better than Davis. What do you think?

Trouble is now he'll drown out the better GOP candidates. Even the perfect GOP candidate will fail as the next governor. It just doesn't matter. The best thing that can come from this is disarray in the Rat party, and this almost certainly guarantees that.

This recall law is really dumb and not very democratic.
A governor could be tossed out by a margin of 51 to 49 percent and replaced by someone with nine percent of the vote.
Does that make sense?
The largest state is circling the bowl under Democratic dominion, and Republicans are trying to take over their burden. Does this make sense?
Why, when the California ship of state is sinking, do the Republicans want to strap themselves to the anchor?
None of this makes any sense to me at all.

Hear, hear! I'm against this whole recall deal. The voters had their chance to dump Davis, and now, as the Emperor Palpatine would say, "they must pay the price for their lack of vision."

As I said he is running without a platform ,just name recognition.. The Terminator. A Republican and liberal at that. Will be interesting to see what his platform will be...what makes him qualified to get California out of a 38 bil debt and junk bond status? He is an immigrant and wants other immigrants to make it just as he has. It will be a nasty race. Just watch and see.

Stay the course. Tom is in to the end of the race and is trusting on word of mouth and grassroots folks to get the word out about him.
Also, we'll see what the "polls" show after we have a field of candidates.Tom polls strong, as he should. He is married at the hip to the Repeal the Car Tax movement in California and should profit from a lot of publicity over that alone. He is also pushing for a review of all the state's bureacracies, departments, etc and wants to get rid of inefficient, duplicative, wasteful govt. Look for BRAC on his senate website.
The internet will be his main area of emphasis, tho not necessarily by choice as the media doesn't give him any airplay and a rare mention when candidates are mentioned.
His R label shuts a lot of doors and minds for some odd reason where the "mainstream aka lamebrain" media is involved.
This is a new age and this Recall is a success because of the internet and the activists using it to spread the word. I like Tom.
