Woman Confesses To Performing Sex Acts On 5-Year-Old
Police: Husband Videotaped Assaults
POSTED: 5:56 a.m. EDT August 8, 2003 UPDATED: 8:34 a.m. EDT August 8, 2003
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman in Deltona, Fla., was arrested Thursday when she confessed to performing sexual acts on a 5-year-old child after incriminating videotapes were found in her garbage, according to Local 6 News.
A sanitation worker found videotapes in the garbage of Kelly Marie Lumadue, 26, of 581 Galloway Ave. and took them to view instead of taking them to the landfill, according to Seminole County sheriff's spokesman Steve Olson.
When the worker watched what was on the tapes, he called the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators then traced the tapes to Lumadue, who confessed to the crime, according to Local 6 News.
When authorities determined that the assaults took place in Seminole County, they turned over the case, Olson said.
Seminole County investigators interviewed Lumadue on Wednesday, when she again confessed and identified the child.
Lumadue said her deceased husband had videotaped the assaults.
She is being held at the Seminole County Jail with bail set at $10,000.

I'm sure they're already on the case - but hasn't SCOTUS ruled that if you throw something away it's no longer private?

If it's in the trash, it's public property...

Can't wait for the libertarians to come along and excoriate the garbage man for not minding his own business. In the recent case of the mother breastfeeding her baby while driving on the Ohio Turnpike, there were some around here that had harsh words for the truck driver who turned her in.

It must be a small town where the garbage man has time to watch thrown-away video tapes.
My poor garbage men don't even have time to empty my garbage can if it is not placed within 2 feet from the edge of the street. Just walking the an extra feet will delay garbage collection considerably in a big metropolitan are.

A sanitation worker found videotapes in the garbage of Kelly Marie Lumadue...Idiot...
Let's suppose YOU had a tape with this kind of criminality on it...Are you so stupid that you just throw it out...
How about burning it??? How about smashing it to bits??? How about pulling the ribbon out and destroying it? How about sticking it in the machine and recording soap operas over it?
How is someone SO casual about this crime that they don't go overboard destroying the evidence???

There was a fellow in St. Louis several years ago who videotaped his girlfriend molesting his own 2-year-old son. While "Dad" was in prison for the deed, he became quite the jailhouse lawyer, flooding the court (for which I worked) with lawsuits, motions, etc. He even sued me once, as I recall, for failing to make sure the judges ruled on his motions, or something. Sad to say, he ended up killing himself with a drug overdose just a few years into his 30-year sentence.

And then again, you never know WHO your garbageman really is.....
Seriously, though. How sick (and dumb) can one person be?
