Gore Blasts Bush [I, Gore. And I hate Bush!]
CBSNEWS ^ | Friday, August 8, 2003

(CBS/AP) Emerging from the political shadows, former Vice President Al Gore upbraided President Bush on Thursday for pursuing a divisive, ideologically narrow agenda and misleading the nation on issues from Iraq to the economy. Continues.

=================================================================

I, Gore. And I hate Bush!

Saddam is the victim of a smear campaign based on trumped up weapons charges by a President with no compunction for heaving unseemly accusations, said Al Gore Thursday in a sweeping policy address blasting the White House on issues ranging from Iraq to Iraq, including Iraq.

Speaking before a militant audience of internet Fedayeenies at New York University, Gore condemned White House attempts to discredit Saddam by linking Saddam to al-Qaeda and 9/11, lamenting the guilt by association tack has left lasting but "false impressions" in "the public mind" about Saddam.

With Saddam gone, "Millions of Americans now share a feeling that something pretty basic has gone wrong in our country, and that some important American values are being placed at risk, and they want to set it right," said Gore, amid a growing feeling that something pretty basic has gone wrong with the Democrat Party, and that some important Democrat values have been placed at risk. Invading Iraq "pulled significant intelligence resources out of Pakistan and Afghanistan," disrupting "the search for Osama at a critical time," said Gore. The invasion "undermined the global cooperation we need to win the war against terrorism," he added. Indeed, the invasion served to "boost" terrorist "recruiting efforts," endangering national security, cable television, and coverage of the upcoming Kobe Bryant trial. Gore then praised Bush for the invasion, calling the invasion -- even Saddam's removal -- "a positive accomplishment."

Gore, who served as vice president in the most ethical administration in all human history, blasted Bush for lacking "honesty and integrity." Gore, in contrast, strongly denies ever having fund-raising-relations with that Buddhist Temple, or making fund-raising phone calls from White House property, or reading a memo not to make fund-raising calls from White House property. Gore vowed at the time "not to make such calls again," however. Gore made his remarks between sips of ice tea, which he blamed for frequent restroom breaks during key meetings where top aids discussed questionable fund-raising strategy while vice president.

In unleashing a barrage of attacks, Gore sought to duplicate the apparent success of '04 hopeful Sen. Bob Graham, former two-term president of Florida, whose fierce attacks have vaulted him back home from 61 percent to 47 percent job approval in the latest Orlando Sentinel poll. Gore denies running for president and pledged "later in the political cycle" to "endorse one" of the 9 titans currently running.

Gore said the problem with this administration is that "they feel they already know the truth, and aren't very curious to learn about any facts that might contradict it." Gore insists he already knows the truth, and isn't very curious to learn any facts that might contradict it, either.

Gore, who blames his '00 defeat on millions of voters in Florida who cheated Gore by giving the Texas dude a razor-thin margin of 537 votes, accused the President of "imbedding in the public mind" that government control and surveillance through the Patriot Act is not such a bad idea. Gore also accused Bush of imbedding "in the public mind" that "government is very bad and should be done away with as much as possible."

Gore, who accuses Bush of stifling debate by questioning the patriotism of opponents, blasted Bush for selling out the country to evil doers and war profiteers. No word yet on whether Bush might've had a hand in the break up of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.

Among the public, Gore's speech seemed well-received. The following email was typical:

What a wonderful speech! Thoughtful, cogent, insightful, inspirational. Gore hit all the right bases, again and again, with eloquence and grace. His remarks on Iraq were breathtaking and true. This war is morally wrong and destructive. It was launched on false pretenses. Saddam was wrongly accused. If there was some way -- any way -- I could vote in U.S. elections, I most certainly would. I would gladly cast my vote for you, Mr. Gore. Keep up the good work, dude!

Sincerely,
Mullah Mohammad Omar, former Taliban leader

My two cents...

The title is a take from the movie, I, Robot.

There should be no doubt in anyones mind that there is a Supreme Being, having Bush as a President.

Why was it necessary to alter the title with the "hate" word?

As posted on another thread, I visited DU to see what the Gorons were saying:

. Gravitas! Depth! Just think where America would be today if he had won. How many soldiers would be alive. How much respect the world would still have for America. How we would have enjoyed our Budget Surplus.

If he runs, I will get out the vote for him--for sure. His speech was outstanding! A breath of fresh air in the cesspool of Bush smash-o-nomics, and eve of destruction politics.

Going to the showers!

If a bore gave a speech in a political void, would it make a noise?

Ever notice that the Democrats are always accusing Republicans of the things they do themselves? Imagine -- Al Gore calling anyone a "liar." Incredible. And I guess "guilt by association" is valid only if it's a tactic used by the Democrats.

The Gorons are truly pathetic. It proves what I've always believed, that there's a link between liberalism and brain damage.

You said it and I see the proof every day in a chat room that is both frequented by conservatives and liberals (leftiest)
