I would almost bet you have an armadillo instead of a possum since it is digging stuff up.

Even if you have seen a possum I still bet you have an armadillo.

Use the Hav-a-hart.

Pssst: The secret ingredient in Brunswick Stew is possum.

Possums eat rattlesnakes.

Life is a tradeoff...

"Call your local PETA representative."

Good heavens NO! They would have the FReeper move out and allow the possum to move into the main house to be maintained indefinitely by said FReeper for encroaching on the poor creature's habitat.

I would prefer seeing you use a humane and nonlethal way of dealing with it though.

"Then send the living possum to your local PETA headquarters -- or drop him off in their cellar."

ROTFL! Good one!

Well, I went to Freidman's and forked over 37 bucks for a Crossman (pistol).177

Get the Crossman .22 cal, the .177 is not as effective for anything larger than a small squirrel. I have seen large squirrels take several hits from the .177 and still keep moving.

Stay away from the Daisy line, they are total crap. A good Crossman with a scope is accurate out to more than 80 yards. The Daisy, maybe ten.

I guess Connecticut is a little out of the Armadillo's range although when I was a kid, they were unheard of in Florida too.

I see them run over just about every time I drive out. Whatever their tails are made of, they should do a scientific study of it, because the tails are never damaged by cars running over them. Maybe they could use them for armor.

My last peacock died some months ago, so we haven't had anymore trouble with coons. There's no more food for them to steal, so they've moved on to bother someone else. You are lucky that your big guy wasn't diseased. I'm sure the bite was really nasty. That is why my husband never touches them until they are good and dead.

The biggest one we ever caught was 30 lbs. We used to have a trapper who would take them off our hands for the pelts. But he died some years ago, and we've had to shoot them since. We are in Wisconsin in a suburban area.
