It was only last Thursday I was explaining to my son's girl friend that JFK, a liberal democratic president in his day, would be considered a part of the VAST RIGHT WING today as the democrats had moved so far to the left.

The cause of the conversation? She is reading BIAS and was/is simply amazed.

I tried to teach my daughter essentially the same things when she was growing up (she is now 23). When she was 12 years old she told me, "Daddy, when I was little I thought 'Democrat' was a bad word." So I'm not so sure she got the subtlties of the argument, but I guess she got the main point.
