Twenty years ago I encouraged young people to learn about electronics and computers. Now I urge them to forget all about electronics and computers, and learn plumbing or electrical (electrician) skills instead. Or HVAC or refrigeration or something along those lines. Forget hi-tech. It's gone and it ain't coming back. Any American who intends to go into hi-tech for a career is due for a very rude awakening.

I sure am grateful to my government for using tools like OPIC and H1-B and L1-B and all of those other wonderful policies/programs/laws/etc. to destroy my livelihood. Thanks Uncle Sam! Really appreciate it!

I was speaking figuratively and collectively. I apologize for the confusion. I should have said "While most everyone was worried about football and basketball scores."

huuummmmm does anyone think that singers are going to be offshored to India??

They will likely try. But public acceptance...which would be iffy today even....would likely collapse as the out-sourcing economic train-wreck begins to be so massive that we finally hit Great Depression unemployment levels. They will likely palm these cheap contract singers off as American immigrants...all the while they record their songs and videos in Malaysia and India...

People need to internalize that the Rats are just about to intercept this and run it back for 6.

GOP, get a grip on this now: if we lose to another 'it's the unemployment, stupid' I'm moving to the American Samoa.

This article was published in the Winston-Salem Journal today and is now hanging on a bulletin board in the kitchen where I work (I didn't put it there.) We are in discussions with Covansys about 'back-filling' some maintenance jobs on a legacy mainframe system and people around here are nervous about it. I'm wondering how long the article will be allowed to remain on the bulletin board.
