Gore Puts Needed Spotlight on Bush's Deceit

A lone Democrat has identified the essential problem of the Bush administration and is willing to say what it is: Our government sets policy and maintains almost unquestioned power through calculated and comprehensive deceit.
The Democrat is Al Gore, and so his warning already has provoked ritual sneers from the usual quarters. Isn't he, after all, the man who blamed an iced-tea binge for a bathroom trip that drew him away from a controversial campaign-finance meeting?
It is very fortunate, and very unfortunate, that Gore says he won't run for president in 2004. Fortunate, because we will be spared Gore-bashing as a substitute for serious coverage. Unfortunate, because non-candidate Gore doesn't get much ink. Yet the message of Gore's speech at New York University on Thursday deserves attention.

....and the Clinton adminstration Treasury Secretary, Robert Rubin, replied to the reporters questions by saying that the Clinton Adminstration was not particularly concerned about balancing the budget. Clinton himself said, "Sure, we could balance the budget in 10 years, but how many people would be hurt if we did so."

How appropriate that this comes from Newsday, the most brainlessly liberal rag on the East Coast.

You know things are bad for the Lefties when they wish Gore was their man.
Newsday is the US's response to Pravda.

Oh sure. This from Gore, "No controlling legal authority."
Scared me witless to think we could have had a president who thought he was beyond the Constitution or any rule of law.

Our government sets policy and maintains almost unquestioned power through calculated and comprehensive deceit. The poor woman was obviously involved in a time warp accident. She still thinks Clinton is president.

Boy, good thing AL Gore isn't running. He was more out of touch while sober than most people are after six gin and tonics.
People bashed Al 'Quaeda' Gore because he was an arrogant, condescending, dictatorial, over-inflated Poppinjay. He believed that he had been bred to be president. He thought he was a pre-destined scion of the modern leftist nobility.
In reality his beliefs and ideology were as inbred as The Spanish Hapsburgs and equally detached from the real world. Bush has problems with the economy, with the borders and with erosion of societal morals and norms. What does Gore yammer about, Iraq WMD evidence.
The issues are out there to tear Bush out by the roots in a general election. Al Whore is tone-deaf to what any of them are. He has about as much in the way of street smarts as he has rhythym. And with Al Gore's rhythym, he'd have about 64 kids if he were Catholic.
