FOX-Sleaze vs. FOX-News : Conservatives Must Decide!
CFAA ^ | 8/13/03 | Timothy Chichester

PRESS RELEASE:     8/13/03, 4:16 PM

SUBJECT:               FOX-Sleaze vs. FOX-News : Conservatives Must Decide!

The Catholic Family Association of America (CFAA) issued a call to moral conservatives to fight the scheduled mainstreaming of pornography by Fox Broadcasting by hitting Rupert Murdoch where they have the most influence, the ad revenues of FOX-News.

In an article called The Music Man, appearing on the CFAA web site, president Timothy A. Chichester denounced the pending introduction of "Skin", a show designed to mainstream pornography under the guise of a Romeo and Juliet romance between a "good" pornographer's daughter and a "bad" LA district attorney's son.

Chichester blasted Jim Leonard, creator and executive producer of the program, who boasted that "We have a working porn director who is a technical adviser for us", for attempting to mainstream the ideas that the porn industry is a legitimate business and the walking cess-pool sludge who run it are really not just plain folk, but better than those that oppose them.

Citing Fox owner Murdoch as one who also thinks we really need a show that "glorifies and promotes the smut industry that has devastated more lives than we can ever imagine, while it undermines the very concept of moral self-control," the article goes on to observe: "Murdoch happily rakes in the cash from both sides of the cultural divide. In one hand he holds FOX-Sleaze and the other FOX-News. The first caters to the social liberals based on the proposition that the deeper the TV dumpster the bigger the bottom-feeder bucks to be hauled up. FOX-News caters to those who seek refuge from the nauseating reek of the pit. Wow, what a market straddle! What a two-headed money machine."

CFAA is asking that viewers let Murdoch know what they think of his attempts to use their minds "as his personal sewerage filtration plant" by turning off FOX-News for three days a week until Murdoch cancels "Skin".

He has the limp wristed aura.

His co-host comes off on the fem side also.

If not gay, they are both entrenched in the metrosexual culture.

Just a suggestion:

It might be more effective to appeal to the advertisers themselves of any specific show. Boycott their products, pinch their pockets due to their support of objectionable material, and the revenue might dry up.

Frankly, the Fox Network has better sports coverage than prime-time programming - and that's WITH Tim McCarver as a color analyst.

"This is NOT a Catholic issue, you bigoted schmuck. This elevation of the porn industry is an issue for all conservatives." What?! I'll have you know mister that conservatives like to look at hot naked women just as much as liberals. Well the normal ones do at least.

Let me get this straight (pun intended), anyone who disagrees with you is a bigot now?!? Please do us all a favor and leave the name calling to the traitor Rats, they're much better at it than you. And to reply to your points:

1. I don't give a hoot who you are. I call a spade a spade. Conservatives are all high and mighty when it comes to pointing fingers, but some of the time we're as closed-minded as our opponents. The CFAA shouldn't be calling for boycotts when the Catholic Church can't even clean up its own dirty mess.

2. "Homosexual inflitrator molestors"?? Oh please!! Give us all a big friggin' break! Are you saying that cardinals like Mahoney in LA and Law in Boston were also infiltrators, since these men, among other cardinals and bishops, moved the sexual predators from parish to parish, covering up their crimes, and gave them more prey!?! The Church hierarchy has BETRAYED millions of Catholics for decades with this massive coverup. It's time for the Church to own up to this fact. At least the damnation of the Episcopal Church, with that blasphemy of a gay bishop, is out in the open. For the longest time, the Church didn't even admit there's a problem and blamed the victims!!

3. Oh yes, assist the victims AFTER the priests have scarred them for life. Good job!! Kind of like the demoRATS saying that we should go ahead and let the terrorists hit us again before responding. Sorry, but closing the barn door after the fact is no help at all.

4. Not all Catholics are hypocrites, but the Church hierarchy CERTAINLY is HYPOCRITICAL when it PROTECTS priests who have molested children, and I don't give damn whether the victims were boys or girls. And there were PLENTY of priests who assaulted their female flock. These priests and their protectors should be hung from the highest tree...instead of the Church spending MILLIONS of tithe money to keep the victims quiet.

Clean up your own house before you preach to others to boycott things based on your vision of morality.

Even the ads on FoxNews Channel have been a little on the bare side. I have thought about emailing them.

Barely There
I can't remember the other advertisers right now. There were three.

Also FoxNews Channel -- some of the lady's tops are getting a little too low for a News Channel.

Have it all tastefully covered.

Conservatives are disgusted by Fox TV yet watch Fox News more than any other news outlet.

Not this conservative. I generally stay away from the national news programs. I prefer local news. For anything national, I'll read the newspaper and/or internet sites (such as FR).

Obviously, you've never seen "24"!

Nope. I've heard good things about it, but like I said, I don't watch much TV outside of local news and a few other programs.

You want a TV show that you don't agree with the subject matter not to be aired. How is that NOT censorship?

Censorship can only be done by government. Boycotting, letter-writing, etc. is not censorship.

Your comments reveal you to be a Catholic bashing bigot. You saw the word "Catholic" in this thread and jumped on your soapbox about the media-enhanced homosexual crisis affecting a small percentage of priests.

Freepers like you specialize in eating our own. Instead of focusing on the pornographers of the Left, you attack your natural allies on the Catholic right.

You're a useful idiot for the left wing. And you don't even know it.

Why is it that a Catholic cannot go after something they find immoral because of the "Crisis in the Catholic Church"? It's like saying I can't be pro-life unless I've adopted children or been a foster parent. The issue of sexual abuse by priests does not have anything to do with this thread. If you want to discuss the Church crisis then start a thread about it. See how many people post replies about Fox News on your thread. Chances are it won't happen because the two are not related. I'm usually a lurker but have seen this happen before. It really is getting old. How about you go after other perverts with as much zeal as you put into attacking the Church! It's obvious you have issues that need to be worked out. I wish you the best of luck.
