You seem to have this assumption that McClintock supporters in California are idiots. We living in the state know what is at stake. The place is in a horrible mess. Most of us are NOT going to do anything to facilitate installation of Bustamante in office. You can write that down, chill out, and relax.

I didn't want to be undiplomatic and put it quite that way. But the McClintock supporters are certainly the Democrats' "useful idiots". McClintock has ZERO chance of winning. Voting for McClintock helps Bustamante. McC's only role in the race is to take votes away from Arnold, which helps Bustamante. These are FACTS.

Just as those who were so "holier than thou" and wanted to punish Bush I, and voted for Perot, gave us 8 years of Bill Clinton, and now are about to try to give us Bustamante.

You do know how this recall thingie works don't you? It is not like one votes for a Pubbie nominee in an initial election, who then tanks in the finale, without recourse to changing the selection (unless perhaps it is NJ, and the guy quits, and the Court let's the party pick someone else). Thus, course adjustments can be made right up to the end. You do know that don't you?

" Think Buffett agreeing to help out Arnold speaks volumes about how bad the RATs are that are running "

They are unraveling because they, unlike so many small tent Republicans, see the big picture and all the ramifications.Just saw Laura Ingraham on Greta and she seemed very positive about Arnold and thought bringing in Buffett was a "brilliant move", as he will attract business to the state.Prediction for Limbaugh's show tomorrow-he will open his show by recounting all the times he has played golf with/attended cocktail parties with/smoked cigars with -Warren Buffett and then he will continue the mud slinging.

Buffett isn't a RINO - he isn't even a Republican.

How about taking care of your leftist politics in Oregon. I notice your way of voting is through mail in ONLY. How about working on changing that system so we help eliminate the democrat FRAUD in Oregon?

Thank you.

You summed up my opinion of Rush now too!

Wonder what some of the people are going to say about Laura Ingraham now since she supports putting Buffett on Arnold's economic team?

Their attacks on people not being conservative if they support Arnold is fading fast!

Some of the hatred of Arnold who is a Republican makes me wonder what agendas are all about on here. It is obvious that one agenda is not electing a Republican Governor of California!

I heard the Anti-Christ is a Republican does this make you feel better.

No Shame.

Yes indeed! A bunch of FINOs (Freepers In Name Only). Doing their best to trash talk FReepers and get Bustimante elected...

BTW -- I have a new definition for RINO (Republican in Name Only) -- it is not for moderate Republicans because they always go vote -- it is for some of the "purist" who threaten to stay home and not vote if a candidate doesn't meet 100% of their "purist" agenda! A "True" Republican is the broken glass type who will not be deterred from voting and that definitely includes moderates!

Good, can we call Republicans CINOs then? Because it's becoming quite apparent the vote is more important than the principle in both parties (okay it was already evident in the Democrat party but I was still holding out hope for the Republicans)

Look I'm not 90 years old and I haven't seen everything yet. But what I have seen is this seepage problem that seems to come from the Left Coast. Every few years, whether it be in education, in fiscal policies, or social policies, it seems something out there moves from the 'under no circumstances would we ever let that pass' to the 'okay if Californians are doing it, we'll hop in and give it a whirl' category. Because I come from a family of teachers, I've seen it especially in education policies. New math, new language, what have you. It's tried in California and eventually becomes SOP in every school system in the respective states within 10 years. And I'm tired of the seepage

We hear to keep voting the R just to keep out the D. But my point is that I've seen, even here in NC, that the Rs are getting more and more liberal to get that one extra vote that may put them over the top. And the question has to be asked. Why bother? Surely I'm not supposed to believe that the 'grand master super secret' plan is to make the bureaucratic behemoth so large that eventually it will peacefully and quietly starve itself. Or am I?

If the Rs are going to continue pandering to the masses to get in, why bother? What's the main difference? That they may be socially conservative and just a bit fiscally liberal? Well as the Good book says you can't serve two masters. One or the other is going to eat you alive. And it's apparent by the stance of the Republican party of late (note this is not an attack on Bush so don't take it as one, I do like the guy) which one is winning. We've got Republicans that are becoming more and more liberal on social stances by the day. A Conservative is fiscally conservative and socially conservative. If these Republicans tried this just 30 years ago, they'd be taken out of the chambers of Congress by the Republicans of the time and duly whipped.

Hold on partner!!!

Unless your crystal ball is in tip-top working order, and is not the least bit foggy, I would not be so quick to anoint Arnold or give up on McClintock. You see we have an eternity until the election...

Case-in-point: Bush was really popular after the Gulf War, could do no wrong, then he slipped...WHAM...eight years later...

From what you would call the losing side, I can tell you we know where our candidate stands, and we know where we have to go to get him elected. However, Arnold supporters have no clue about where Arnold is on ANYTHING. Yet they proclaim him governor.

Well from the edges of the VRWC, we don't see it that way, and just for sport, we plan on staying around awhile...

Can I can tickets to the Arnold Victory Party (no use waiting for the last minute...)???

DD

Time for the purists to check their passion at the door and focus on winning.

Time for the likes of Hugh Hewitt to find himself a job as a hack for the RNC.

Oh, excuse me: A fulltime job at the RNC.

I am trying to fix all the problems at their source :-). That is CA. That way the people fleeing that state don't bring those here.

Bout the only difference between Arnold and Barney Frank is that Arnold's wife is a female...

This thing is turning into a real circus...Republicans are going to vote for Arnie because he's going to win the election...Why's he going to win the election??? Because the Democrats are going to vote him in...

The line separating the Democrats from the Republicans has faded away...We'll likely soon see Arnie at the podium with George Bush on one arm and Hillary on the other...

What's the difference whether Arnold wins or a Democrat wins??? Makes you wonder whether some of these Republicans wouldn't have voted for Gore if they'd been sure George was going to lose...

"I can tell you we know where our candidate stands, and we know where we have to go to get him elected. "

--

The way the same people knew how to get Simon elected?

Look, I do believe that SOME of the McClintock supporters are truly sincery conservatives and if he had a chance, I may be voting for him myself. But you can't ignore reality. The term useful idiots means exactly that people sincere in their beliefs are used unwittingly by the opposition for their purposes.

In today's dynamics, the Democrats will put everything behind Davis & Bustamente. The only one who has a chance of beating them is Arnold. It is very unfortunate and selfish on the part of McClintock and Simon, that they didn't follow Issa's example and withdraw. Issa was the one who financed the recall with his own personal money, and yet was smart and decent enough to withdraw.

If Bustamente gets elected, because the Republican vote is split between Arnold, McC & Simon, I think a lot of people, myself included, will not feel very forgiving towards McC & Simon and their supporters, whose blind support of some selfish candidate resulted in the election of Bustamente, who will complete the destruction of California.

I think, the McC & Simon supporters should be working on persuading their candidates to do the right thing and endorse Arnold, who IS the only one with a chance to beat the Democrats.

Fair, no one in my family wants Busta Rhymes elected. But that is not the point. The point I was trying to make is that there is NOT MUCH difference between Arnold Kennedy and Jose Bust-a-grande.

Arnold, if he wins, will appoint judges every bit as liberal as the ones Busta would have appointed. The only difference between the two is that with Arnold, Calif. will still be a part of the Union, but with Busta, we will have to rename it Upper Baja.

Given the fact that most in Cal are from places like Texas, Ohio, Illinois, Florida, Oregon etc, you'll feel right at home.......
