Seattle OK so far.

Al Quaida said they would attack our "backbone". Could they have meant the power grid?

Farmington, MI would be bad... Farmington, NM would be worse.

Listen, I know I'm making jokes... but all of y'all effected, you have my prayers. Brownouts/Blackouts in summertime are bad bad bad.

There are some major disturbances in the eastern interconnection, due to the outages. Frequency rose on the system, indicating a large loss of load has been lost. It was felt in Tennessee, and by several utilities, though no outages are reported here. Fox says NYC, Detroit, Ottawa, and Toronto have taken the brunt of it. I'll talk to work again and see if I can get some updates on the situation.
