Why the bump down?

Term limits.

It's musical chairs for the politicians - they just find another office to run for.

Descamp and Davey said it was inappropriate for CalPERS, supposedly a neutral fund administrator, to push for the increases.

"I believe the philosophy behind the board of trustees for a public pension plan should be how to properly administer the system," Descamp said. "I don't believe the trustees should become advocates for more or higher benefits."

But that's what happened, Descamp said: "The PERS board became advocates."

The fox in the chicken house.

"The history of my family in this town is they went from farm workers to cannery workers to state employees," Ortiz said.

If the public, struggling with their 401Ks and their saving to retire, knew of the largess of the pensions of the public workers, they would have a stroke.

Thanks for your postings on this thread.

You have provided a valuable history on why is it that California is in this mess.

It is NOT for the lack of sensible Californians trying to provide oversight.

It IS as a result of conflicts-of-interest and judicial tyranny.

This threatens the citizens of EVERY state, not just California.

and vote for ...

First things first.

You will never get the demoralized, but sensible, rank-and-file voters of California out to support your eminently sensible program until the voter rolls are cleaned and you can promise an (reasonably) honest elecion. End motor voter and start checking ID's at the polls. The first is Federal, but the CA DMV is a corrupt hispanic hellhole. The second is completely within the state's powers.

Fraud Slut Parra's big butt is still in her legislative seat, is it not? Until she is removed and punished for the 900 totally fraudulent votes which gave her a mere 256 vote plurality, why would anyone in that district trust the process?

On May 19, 1999, the President of Mexico visited Los Angeles. The following is from a TV report of the visit. Gray Davis can be seen sitting next to the President of Mexico.

FROM TV NEWS CLIP (KMEX TV)

Reporter

"President Zedillo says he has a commitment from the governor."

Zedillo (translation):

"I have a commitment from the governor that he will do whatever he can so that these catastrophic effects which were foreseen with Proposition 187 several years ago will not come to pass."

So Gray Davis made a commitment to the President of Mexico to stop Proposition 187.

TV NEWSCLIP (Spanish language TV - May 19, 1999)

Reporter:

...Gobernador Gray Davis dijo

Gray Davis:

"In the near future, people will look upon California and Mexico and one magnificent region."

There you have it

Gov. Gray Davis on the record as envisioning and supporting MEXIFORNIA.

So what I'm saying is that the Republicans need to get behind one candidate and then for all of them to articulate a stong conservative message. "A contract with California"....

Yes. More than anything, there needs to be a clear program.

Dear Congrssman Billybob; I know that you are a busy man, however please take a moment to look at posts # 78 and #102.

Number 78 is instructive as it documents the foresight and political leadership evidenced by California voters through their referendum process. Each of these referendum approved by the voters went on to become national poitical issues.

The only one that was not put into effect was Proposition 187. Post #102 provides an enlightening account of what happened.

California is in serious political trouble because of unstoppable illegal immigration, aidied by judicial tyranny.

The rest of the country is facing the same threat.

Please lead. Thank you.

Two bills came up for a vote this year in the Assembly higher education committee. One, introduced by a Republican legislator, sought to help young men and women serving in the National Guard qualify for Cal Grants - a state- funded scholarship awarded to Californians needing financial help attending college in the state. The other, carried by a liberal Democrat, sought to make the same Cal Grants scholarships available to persons who entered the country illegally. Not surprisingly, the liberal-dominated Higher Education Committee approved the bill granting benefits to persons in California illegally, and killed the measure to assist young people who joined the National Guard.

I agree with all of your comments. California is a vision of the future if Democrat legislators and judges get control. And it's scarey.

You said, "Please lead." Click up the website in my tagline and see for yourself. I'm trying to do exactly that. Lemme know what you think. FReepers will be VERY important in this process. (I hope you'll be on line on 2 September at 4 p.m. EST for the official announcement.)

Well, I'm just the messanger, Sabertooth's hard work actually posted that a week ago...but we're all in this together against the cynical, pessimitic, nattering nabobs of negativity.

1994 - Proposition #184: Three-strikes, life imprisonment for repeat felons.
1994 - Proposition #187: Cut off state funds for Illegal Aliens.
1996 - Proposition #209: Ended statewide Affirmative Action
1998 - Proposition #227: Ended bilingual education
2000 - Proposition #22: Defined marriage as one man - one woman.

Kudos to you both for your documentation.

As you can see from post #127, I pinged Congressman Billybob. You can see his response to me in post #129.

Gray must Pay.

Cruz must lose.
