He sounds like -- and obviously is -- a pragmatic conservative businessman, surrounded by knowledgeable advisors, who is serious about solving California's fiscal crisis.

Democratic Party chairman Terry McAuliffe is sending former Clinton White House spokeswoman Ann Lewis to California this week to head up the party's communications strategy for the recall.

Keep that ----- out of our state!

I just saw my first Arnold TV add. Not bad, except that he was wearing a jacket and an open-collared shirt. No tie? Come on.

... Schwarzenegger, who is seeking to replace Democratic Gov. Gray Davis in an Oct. 7 recall election, said that he would not raise taxes or cut spending to do it.

The twin pillars of fiscal conservatism, is cutting taxes and reducing government spending. This is not the rhetoric of a candidate whose a fiscal conservative. Arnold continues showing his true colors. Arnold's a liberal RINO.

>>>"Like I told Warren, if he mentions Prop 13 one more time, he has to do 500 sit-ups," he said.

That's one way to rid yourself of a liberal advisor, for good!

John Campbell is on KFI right now explaining that he is now on Arnold's economic team. John Campbell is one of the smartest, most knowledgeable men in Sacramento. And he said NO NEW TAXES. For real.

But, Schwarzenegger ... said that he would not raise taxes or cut spending to do it.

What does he plan to do then? Invade and sack Oregon?

It sounds like all the politicos wanna bes do the same thing Hitlery and Bill do. Have their people throw out all of the ideas and design their ads and speeches around them.

How can you tell what any of them really stand for?

I noticed that, too. I think he was trying to look more like a regular guy. But he looked nice in that suit he was wearing today:

This is California. I guess you haven't had to change to get fully acclimatized. :)

Vote4McClintock and he will do more his first sixty minutes in office than this clown plans on doing in sixty days! We don't have time to train a governor here! VOTE4MCCLINTOCK or pay$ the consequence$!

I take the long view and that is that there is no hope for CA. Arnold is right to say that he wants businesses and jobs to come back to CA. Here's the problem; Many years ago, we had a period of time where our adversarial gov't ran bussiness out of CA. Along came Pete Wilson. He did a great job of turning things around. Then along came Gray.........The next repub guv will also make things better, but will at some point be replaced by another dem.

Business has to feel safe for more than just one or two terms of a pro-business guv.

Unfortunately, the state is dominated by a dem electorate and the ratio of tax-producers to tax-users is growing exponentially. Sorry; My long view is there is no hope. (I even disagree with Rush on this)

One word: Buffett. Arnold isn't just talking, he is already working on saving CA with Buffett's help. In a couple of different articles I read that CA needs to sell bonds, get their credit improved and so on, and also that Davis wanted Buffett to buy some CA bonds, but he didn't because he didn't trust that Davis could turn CA around. Obviously he thinks Arnold can and is working with him on that.

This transcends politics: this is business. That's the real reason for Buffett's involvement. Whatever his politics, Buffett is a smart businessman. Arnold is way ahead of everyone.

If he wants to look like a regular guy, he needs to ditch the "$5 pimp" ring he's got on in that shot.

who is serious about solving California's fiscal crisis.

Anyone who doesn't want to cut spending isn't serious about solving the fiscal crisis. That has to be number one ---- it's spending or else get more money (taxes)----what other possible way does he think that budget can be fixed?
