On WFLA Tampa now - Terri Schiavo review is denied
WFLA | August 22, 2003 | WFLA

Just heard on Tampa Radio news WFLA Terry Schiavo's review has been denied - the original judge will now set a time to pull Terri's feedings and start starving her...

God help a country where this is countenanced.

That is not this case! She is not in a coma. She is not in a persistent vegitative state. She has been denied medical care. Before her husband lost a huge lawsuit, he said he was taking her home and caring for her. After he got all the money he could, then he ``remembered'' she wanted to die.

Please read more about this case. Terri is not on life support or in a coma. She has communicated with her family, but she has not been allowed medical treatment. Her husband said he was going to take her home and care for her when he was suing the hospital. Then when he got all the money he could, he ``remembered'' she wanted to die-which he never remembered before.

Also, there is evidence that he put her in this state. A murderer should not be allowed to legally finish his crime- and control all evidence of his crime.

Your ignorance of Terry Schiavos case is awe inspiring.

Heck I never heard of it before either!

More on her situation is here. Apparently her husband has been living with another woman, who he will marry after Terri's death, and he will inherit what remains of Terri's medical fund, and he has sole and exclusive control over her medical care. Her husband has been trying to kill her for some time and it looks like he will succeed. Disgusting!

He is a sick POS and so is that judge for allowing this.

I have heard of this story, but I didn't follow it very closely .. after watching the video of her from a link posted above .. IMO what this judge is doing is murder

Also, I hate to ask this, but I notice this is taking place in Clearwater, FL. Does anyone know if any of the principles in this story are involved with Scientology?

I have a question .. with the bone juries to her .. why was her husband never brought up on charges? .. Didn't the police investigate this?

Sickening...aint it? Her husband should be brought up on charges for neglect and Jeb should step in and do something.

I didn't thrust "drugs" into it, but rather "drug laws." You're the one who said you "don't believe in the law anymore." I'm just reminding you that you support "the law" after all - because, apparently, some laws are more equal than others. I'm sorry that this inconsistency causes you so much distress, but I'm merely the messenger.

Rather, it's the laws.

Yes it is .. I thought she was a complete vegetable .. she isn't from what I saw of those video's

And if her husband just wants to get on with his life .. divorce her and let her family take care of her. What the court is doing is murder

Is there anything Jeb can do .. I really don't know the case all that well?

It's going to take a couple of weeks for her to starve to death, because she is in reasonable physical health.

You are correct...my dad had PSP, a form of Parkinson's and was on a feeding tube, but the feeding tube was failing and they could not get another feeding tube to "take". They could have put him on intravenous feeding, but it would only have prolonged his life a month at best. He made the conscious decision not to go that route and he died two weeks later of starvation. It was very hard on our family, as once the process started, we were not allowed to give him a mere sip of water, even if he asked for it, we were only allowed to swab his mouth. I have still not fully recovered emotionally from the ordeal, not sure I ever will.

This case is bizarre .. that link above states that her huband refused to hand over court ordered documents so they could review their case and yet the Judge signs the order to starve her to death

HELLO .. what the hell is wrong with that Judge?

HELLO .. what the hell is wrong with that Judge?

Most likely an ego/power trip. His mind has been made up, he's ticked that his decision has been fought so hard, and he probably feels he would lose face by weakening his stand in any way.

Sure, good judges can make difficult and unpopular decisions, and sometimes the laws are framed in such a way as to leave them no choice but to act against their desires. But the magnitude and aspect of basic humanity in this case and the judges actions so far leave me incredibly cynical about his character and perhaps motives. Solomon ruled that the baby should be cut in half on the calculation that the real mother would reveal herself in reaction. This judge has seen and heard the real natures of the participants revealed, yet still continues to insist on cutting that baby in half, because that is what he originally ruled. Thus the difference between a wise man and a Pharasee.
