On WFLA Tampa now - Terri Schiavo review is denied
WFLA | August 22, 2003 | WFLA

Just heard on Tampa Radio news WFLA Terry Schiavo's review has been denied - the original judge will now set a time to pull Terri's feedings and start starving her...

God help a country where this is countenanced.

Have you seen the videos of Terry? I was skeptical at first, but after seeing the video, she's in there! I cannot condone starving a woman to death who interacts with those around her like Terry does.

No, not sick. Evil is the word. No respect for human life. No respect for life period. God help this Judge and God help the husband even more. The parents have done all they can and they are on the right side. The Judge and husband will have to live with themselves for the rest of their lives. I hope they can...especially the one who calls himself Judge. He will now be Judged by a much higher power and I'm glad I won't be standing in his shoes. God forgive them.

"I have still not fully recovered emotionally from the ordeal, not sure I ever will."

My heart goes out to you and yours at the terrible loss of your father.

we were not allowed to give him a mere sip of water, even if he asked for it, we were only allowed to swab his mouth. I have still not fully recovered emotionally from the ordeal, not sure I ever will.

I'm not sure you should.

All we have to do is hook the dying up to a bunch of tubes and wires and they can practically live forever, in a total vegetative state.

I agree with you and Freepers..if I am ever in a similar conditon as Mrs.Sciavo.... PLEASE..fight for me and let me die so I can be at peace with my Lord. Thanks : ) ( my husband already knows my wishes but just in case my parents decide to get involved to keep me alive with no quality of life)

Most likely an ego/power trip. His mind has been made up, he's ticked that his decision has been fought so hard, and he probably feels he would lose face by weakening his stand in any way.

I don't give a flying hoot about his feelings .. I care about justice and yes, I agree that sometimes tough decisions are made .. but this doesn't have to be one of them ...

Sorry if I am sounding snotting towards you .. I don't mean to be .. I am angry at this Judge

What an ordeal. I remember once we had a patient who had AIDS, and made the decision to not be put on a ventilator. Until he wasn't able to breathe. A couple of hours of that and he countermanded the DNR.

Life is sometimes so hard, so difficult. My heart goes out to you.

My husband (a young man) died very suddenly a few months ago. The deputy came up to me and told me he was more fortunate than many people, that speed is only tough on the people left behind.

While my husband should have had many more healthy years, your testimony reminds me that God, in a way, blessed my husband with a gift many people don't get - a painless death.

She has been in this condition since 1991 right.

I can't believe much money at all is left from the 750 grand settlement.

Just be sure you write your wishes down on paper, with whatever legal forms your state requires. I think I would be explicit, because in a situation I wouldn't want anyone misunderstanding what I want done.

And I would strongly suggest you research thoroughly what you are asking for. Talk to nurses you know, they know what no one else tells you.

Please send those links and a brief explanation of the strongest points/why this should be reported/what the mainsteam media ignores to Brit Hume. If anyone will cover this, he may be the best shot.

Special Report with Brit Hume
Special@foxnews.com

Also try Shep, he has Florida connections:

FOX Report with Shepard Smith
Foxreport@foxnews.com

Sean Hannity has a devout appreciation and fight for life:

Hannity & Colmes

Hannity@foxnews.com

Maybe even Greta would be interested in the legal aspect. I don't know what angle she would pursue, but if we can at least get that video shown on TV often enough, it has the best shot at producing a grassroots reaction.

On the Record with Greta
Ontherecord@foxnews.com

And try O'Reilly, he usually likes any subject where there's the thinnest chance of being able to bash a Bush. I'd rather see this case blow up nationally and Jeb takes some hits(which he can survive) than see her die.

The O'Reilly Factor
Oreilly@foxnews.com

And for potential coverage on Monday, try Neal Cavuto. He's had to deal with some medical challenges, so he might find an angle to work this story in. Its worth a shot.

Your World with Neil Cavuto
Cavuto@foxnews.com

Sunday show:

FOX News Sunday
FNS@foxnews.com

Linda Vester's show:

DaySide with Linda Vester
Dayside@foxnews.com

I'd send it myself, but I don't know much about the case and a really brief but strong synopsis of the most significant facts will go a long way towards getting a show to cover this.

O'Reilly actually had the parents on the show, and they showed the video of Terri responding to her parents and following a balloon with her eyes.

O'Reilly said he would stay on top of the story - I hope he keeps his word.

What treatment would restore Terri back to a functional human who could perhaps take care of herself? She is brain damaged right? Im glad she can follow a balloon with her eyes but frankly I just can not believe she knows she is in this vegative state and if she did that she would choose to live until a ripe old age in that damn bed.

I never heard of this woman before, it took me 2 minutes to realize what's going on is wrong. She's not a vegetable , she's mentally deficient and unable to feed herself.....soo what. Maybe we should have killed Christopher Reeves because he's mentally deficient and still can't feed himself to this day! This husband is a P.O.S. where's that West Virginia shooter when you need him. Boy, oh boy, Dr Joseph Mengela must be looking up from hell with a big smile on his face thinking ..."at last, the dream is now a reality".

You want to debate drug law? Start a thread. I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

I am local and willing to do whatever I can to help, whatever that may be.

That's great! Here are some ways. Maybe you could contact the family.

My sincere condolences on your husband. Although I am hopping mad at my hubby right now over an issue concerning my daughter, I don't know what I would do if I lost him. I may just go home and give him a big hug!

He didn't get the money in 1991. He was in court until about '98ot '99. And i think $750,000 was only one settlement.

I have signed the petition and written to Jeb already (I will call, too). I was thinking more along the lines of something that might actually help her (because I just don't think that politicians are going to be the ones to stop this - but, I'd love to be wrong). It just seems so hopeless.
