A woman convicted of killing her estranged husband in their home and calling friends to help hide his body will spend the rest of her life in jail.

Jocelyn Banks Dooley was sentenced Friday morning in Bossier District Court. She was convicted of killing Vol "Bubba" Dooley III after a weeklong trial in July. Her defense, maintaining her innocence, filed a motion for retrial, which was denied.

These judges are always seeking statements of "remorse" from killers. When no such statements are forthcoming, the judges seem to feel personally offended. It's almost like the killer is getting sentenced for upsetting the judge, instead of his crime!!!

The whole concept of "remorse" has always confused me.
Who cares?
What is done is done.
Oh, he feels sorry for what he did. Everything OK now.
I don't get it.
Feel goodism at its best.

Kneale (front) and Vol Dooley IV currently live with their aunt and uncle, Teresa and Steve Dooley, in Benton.

Poor kids.

I knew Jocelyn Dooley for over 10 years, before she married "uncle bubba" and considered her my best friend, my sister. I cared a great deal for Vol as well, I used to spend weekends at their home in Plain Dealing, riding horses and helping Vol with the breading. I personally NEVER saw this coming and I believed her when she said that she didn't do it. But then I never knew what a great liar she was until after this happened. The Joshie I knew I did not think was capable of doing this to him. It became almost a game of figuring out what she was telling the truth about. That was very sad! The thing that really makes me mad and frustrates me to this very date. Kosden, who helped her bury the body and turned on her the last minute, got off scott free! In my opinion and the knowledge that I have on this case. This man should be in jail right next to Joshie(Dooley) Joshie was her nickname. I am, and have been sad for Vol and Kneale. They are great children that did not deserve this. I pray that Teresa and Steve will take great care of them. I've spent a lot of time with them over the years and will miss them dearly.
