A good reminder of the dishonesty and viciousness of our opposition...

He is not a brave man, but he plays one on television.

Yeah, being President of the US takes no courage at all. It's not like you are a constant target or anything. Not like you have to make important, world changing decisions. Nah. That's what courageous journalists in liberal west coast big towns do.

I give this scumbag four and a half barfs. He bravely attacks others' courage from the safety of a newspaper page and then bravely orders a total and craven retreat in Iraq.

Nothing more disingenuous than an extreme leftwinger from San Francisco trying to sound like he gives a damn about people in the armed forces.

Geez, what a muddled mess of an article -- turning here, turning there, skipping off the surface of everything.

BTW, is Harley Sorensen a man or a woman?

This has so many lies, distortions, ad hominem attacks, non sequitors, and so forth in it, I really do not know where to start challenging it. Thanks for the reminder of just how low the enemy can go.

...Well, Saddam has vanished. Who is our enemy now?...

Same as it has been, the American left.

My terse e-mail to this person:

"Well, Saddam has vanished. Who is our enemy now?"

You would be pretty high on my list.

From experience I have come to expect that socialists to whom one talks or whose crap one reads will invariably demonstrate a lack of grasp of how the world works. Sorry, Harley, you're not the exception I've been seeking.

Who is our enemy now?

I'd say the writer, Harley Sorensen, is a pretty good candidate.

This article and these people are a prime example of why America dosen't trust the Left on matters of National Security. November of 1994 America put Conservatives in charge of Congress and in 2000 the White House. This isn't by chance but because the Left has been shown for what it really is.
Their willingness to say and do anything to gain power is as transparent is their lies and obfuscations.
Praise be the America is slowly but surely shifting to the Right.

And they did bring 'em on, one bomb at a time, one rocket-propelled grenade at a time, one rifle shot at a time, so terrifying to a relative of mine that she cried herself to sleep every night she was there. (Welcome home, baby. They can't get you here.)

Talk about missing the point. We are "there" precisely because "they" can get her "here".

Can you say "Vietnam," boys and girls? When do we start engraving names into a stark black wall?

The war is unwinnable. As in Vietnam, we are the invaders, invaders of a country that presented no threat to us. As with Vietnam, we lied to the world as to our motives. We said we wanted to destroy Saddam's weapons of mass destruction (done) and get rid of Saddam (done).

So why are will still there?

Why are we still in Bosnia? I have a relative who just got called up to go there for 7 months. Why are we still in Germany? Why are we still in Korea?

The question is assinine. Big time.

We toppled Saddam but we have not produced a body yet and for the time being "new" Saddam tapes are being released. The job in Iraq isn't over yet. Some nation may even be harboring him. Some fighters in Iraq hold hope that Saddam will return. Of course, some Americans still hold hope that Albert Gore Junior will become president before 2004.

This article is so nutty, this guy appears to be either tripping or mentally unbalanced. I can't imagine why the paper printed this. It's so goofy, I almost suspect it's tongue-in-cheek. But then, I'm not familiar with this writer.

If he's for real, imagine sharing an office with him regardless of whether you are left or right. There would be no starting point for debate and time spent would be wasted. He's not at all logical.

"He is not a brave man."

There is so much crap in this article, I'll just respond to this one item. The president of the United States lives under the constant threat of assassination, and everyone running for president knows that. At least 6 of the last 11 presidents have been shot, shot at, or had violent intruders penetrate the White House grounds or other presidential quarters (Truman, Kennedy, Ford, Reagan, Clinton, and W). In additon to this, two presidential candidates (RFK and Wallace) were shot in the last 35 years. All presidents receive innumerable death threats. As for Bush, his processing of the war against terror means he will have a bullseye on his back for the rest of his life. A coward would not take that on, no way. Apparently Harley Sorensen has doubts about his own capacity for courage, or he wouldn't be so obsessed about Bush.

When our nation was attacked on Sept. 11, he hid in an airplane, flying to and fro around the country. While our nation was crying for leadership, he was making sure the coast was clear.

Well, Saddam has vanished. Who is our enemy now?

In the absence of a body, we have to assume that Saddam is in hiding. The same strategy that this clymer crowed at President Bush over. Are Saddam's death squads crying out for leadership from Saddam? Or are they continuing about their jobs despite the uncertainness of what the future holds?
