Rush Limbaugh Not Welcome at ESPN, Says Sports Ilustrated Editor

I don't want to listen to Rush Limbaugh. I just don't need the aggravation. We simply disagree on too many issues. The bombastic, nationally syndicated radio talk show host has pummeled just about anyone who isn't a card-carrying citizen of his vision of good ol' white-bread U.S. of A. That would include feminists, gays, blacks, immigrants -- if I left anyone out, please raise your hand!

Just as I chose not to listen to his radio show, I can choose not to watch Sunday NFL Countdown. It will be intriguing to see just how many potential viewers choose to do the same.

Go ahead, lefty, we dare you.
---------------------------------

His "Pass the Word" column appears on SI.com every Friday. Catch Johnson on CNN Headline News every Thursday at 3:40 p.m. ET.

He's just jealous. All he gets is an appearance on pathetic "Headline News," which gets about 100,000 viewers. It's "intriguing to see just how many" people tune him out.

---------------------------------

When we come together in our stadiums and arenas to cheer for our teams, from Little League to the big leagues, we leave our political views at the turnstiles. On any given Sunday during the NFL season, a diehard conservative could be sitting next to a bleeding-heart liberal.

Yeah right. Most football fans are not emasculated girly-male liberals. Just think of all the "men" who worked for XXX-linton. All the people whom Hillary made sure she could walk all over. George Stephanie-opolis, Jamie Carville, Harold Icky, and others.

---------------------------------

No football fans are going to turn off Rush Limbaugh when he's on the tube. If anything, this worthless columnist has probably turn people off from reading him by injecting politics into sports debate. Limbaugh's not going to do that on TV. I can tell by this piece that he's a bore and a whiner, and I'm sure others thought the same.

Isn't ESPN owned by ABC, who in turn, has a chunk of Disney? I wouldn't expect anything less from this bunch.

Good, then you shouldn't mind that any conservative (or liberal) is welcome at the games, as a spectator or announcer. Game, set, match.

I have never heard Rush criticize black people as a group. This guy is probably one of many liberals who has never listen to Rush and is basing his opinion of Rush on the hearsay of others, who also haven't ever listened to Rush, and are basing their opinions on the hearsay of others, who also haven't ever listened to Rush, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

"Just as I chose not to listen to his radio show" (but I will make judgements about him anyway...)

Translation = I don't know what I am talking about.

What a bigot!

Including blacks and immigrants in this list is sort of like including cake and candy in with smoking pot and shooting heroine as all being things that are bad for you.

let him say what he wants... these people have so many liberals that speak for them on prime time TV and movies, that when a conservative talks they're threatened. Whining babies. You can't turn the TV on without some liberal screen writer bringing up the gay issue, or the environment.

Let Rush talk sports and maybe you'll see a different kinda person... someone that loves football. No more, no less.

Liberals have just about all the syndicated weekly TV Programs along with the bulk of Press and they complain that a Conservative is popular in spite of their efforts to protray soceity to the contrary. It must be scary for liberals to see a popular Conservative hit the screen in venue other than talk radio with the opportunity to win over a new audience on a different level. If Rush doesn't make ESPN money then he will be gone, bottom line. If he does make them money, then Conservative stock will rise to the occasion:)

Somebody ought to inform this jerk that fans do not read Sports Illustrated to learn "his" political views.

What mind-bending hypocrisy... and someone who has obviously NEVER listened to Rush for so much as 30 seconds.

I wouldn't have to listen to his Neanderthal opinions.

But he's not judgemental. Nope, not at all.

In a reasonable world -- one in which Limbaugh and his ilk have the right to speak their views, and I have the right to tune them out -- I wouldn't have to listen to his Neanderthal opinions. But because I am an NFL fan who enjoys watching ESPN's NFL pregame show each Sunday, I no longer have that choice.

Unless for some reason you are forced by law to watch, you have the "reasonable world" you seek.
