Terri Schiavo Moved to Hospital Again, in Critical Condition

Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Terri Schiavo has been moved to a hospital again, and this time she is in critical condition.

In a statement provided to LifeNews.com, Pamela Hennessy, a representative of Terri's family, said Terri was moved from the hospice where she is living to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. She was admitted through the emergency room.

This is the second time in 10 days that Terri has been to the hospital, the first time after Terri was coughing up blood.

The hospitalization is at the center of a legal battle, with Terri's parents and siblings saying her husband Michael violated a 1996 court order requiring him and his attorneys to provide Terri's family with updates on her medical condition. Michael prevented the hospital from allowing visitors and releasing information on Terri's status.

Though Terri was admitted Sunday night, Hennessy told LifeNews.com that Terri's family didn't receive notice until Monday morning when Michael's attorney faxed Pat Anderson, the attorney for the family.

"Though the Schindlers did not receive the court-ordered discharge summary from Terri's previous hospitalization, they are concerned that she suffers from a continuance of the ailment that she was treated for there and that she may have been released too soon," Hennessy explained.

Hospital officials are not currently providing the family with updates on Terri's condition.

Bob and Mary Schindler have been engaged in an ongoing legal battle to block the efforts of Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo, to remove a feeding tube which provides Terri nutrition and hydration. If removed, Terri will die a painful death by starvation over the course of 15 days.

The Florida Supreme Court ruled on Friday that it would not hear Terri's case. The decision allows a local judge to set a date for Terri's death.

I called too - I'm here in Port Richey and have been following this. This case is getting a lot of publicity here.

I knew a Michael Schiavo growing up (and he had a bad reputation and an evil streak a mile wide - we were all sort of afraid of him), but there are so many men with that name, I can't assume it is the same one. Does anyone know where this guy was born?

I must admit, I've been praying for Jose Canseco in S. Florida. I thought he was being set up for a 15 year prison sentence. He's back at home. Some people think he's a jerk but he's got a good heart and the S. Fla cops tried to frame him.

I'm adding and Terri and her parents to my prayers tonight. Imagine if she's in there wondering where her mom and dad are. We simply do not know.

But, she not in a coma and she's not in a vegetative state. She's not like you and me but is that a reason to starve her to death?

Doesn't he have a girlfriend that he wants to marry? Whatever happened to the vows he took when he married Terry. For better or for worse, in sickness and in health. Nobody's promised a rose garden here on earth. Men like that make me ill. It's all about them and not their wives. Glad I've got one who thinks of others first.

Maybe boatlawyer can give some broad picture of divorce laws in Florida. If a wife is incapacitated, can the husband divorce her?

At this time, I know that the husband has a fiance and a baby on the way. I honestly don't think he ever tried to divorce her because then her parents would be able to care for her. They are a threat to him. Best thing to do would be to visit some of the Terri web sites. A link is provided above by someone else. If they have a message board or something, you can probably find out if he ever tried to divorce her.

Money. I don't know how much. That's apparent. He doesn't treat her in a loving manner. He's engaged and has a baby on the way. That's adultery.

Yes, the husband has a live-in (I think) girlfriend, who is pregnant.

Terri was a pretty girl. It would make sense for her to marry a bad boy. Can you tell from looking at pictures of Michael S. if he's the same guy? I'm sure Schiavo's bio is somewhere on the internet. Try a google search.

Thanks for this update. I've emailed Gov. Bush to thank him. Of course, I'm not a Florida voter, but I'm sure he has ambitions beyond the state!

Dr. Hammesfahr is a very good doctor. He's Terri's. If you ever come down with bad headaches, he's the one to see. He's a pain specialist.

Read before you write.

The information was contained in Post # 7. Providing in part:

"Minutes after an appeals court gave the go-ahead Monday to schedule the removal of the 39-year-old woman's feeding tube, her husband asked a judge for permission to stop treating illnesses that include fever, labored breathing, vomiting, diarrhea and ``substantial infection."

"Given the imminence of the ward's death, further treatment [other than comfort care] for the ward's infection and other medical problems is unnecessary, unwarranted, inappropriate and futile," states the emergency motion filed Monday afternoon by Michael Schiavo.

Michael Schiavo says it is pointless to treat his wife's illnesses..........."

By the way, if you go to http://www.myflorida.com/, you can access the Florida Statutes and look up the Chapter on Dissolution of Marriage. (in case we don't hear from boatlawyer). Legal research is easy to do.

Oops. I typed that Governor Bush is not in a vegetative state. I meant Terri of course. Putting myself in her place if there is consciousness in there, I'd be thinking where were my parents and I'd be afraid.

I do not intend to get in a pissing contest with you.

My original comment was directed specifically at the information contained in the basic article and not at anything in post #7.

Enough said! Back off!

I bet he's poisoning her or something.

That was my first thought. He's going to make it appear that pulling her feeding tube is an act of mercy, IF Terri lives that long. Her husband may just bypass the whole court ordeal and finish her off himself.

Did you hear that Jeb Bush has stepped in and issued a stay? Joseph Farah just announced it on his radio show. Can you tell the people on your ping list?

Thankyou Jesus!
