Most conservative Republican's, what I call the the loyal rank and file crowd, want to rid the GOP of people like Olympia Snowe, Arlen Spector, Susan Collins and Lincoln Chaffey. Therefore, it makes no sense whatsoever, for Republican's to mount such a serious effort to elect Arnold Schwarzenegger the next governor of California.

Seems to me you're the odd man out. I believe 'odd' is the perfect adjective, too!

17 McClintock!!!!!

Compared to the LATimes--where McC was at 12, prior to the Simon bailout?

Well, it's getting interesting

...I thank you are correct.

...I understand that this is the SIMON Poll that was done last Weekend for Viacom's Los Angeles TV Stations, KCBS Channel 2 & KCAL Channel 9.

...The important thing to remember is that the rest of the News Media is now reporting this ARNOLD-Leading Poll all over the place today in response to yesterday's Los Angeles Times skewered BUSTAMONTE-Leading Poll.

...T'is getting mighty interesting out there.

Oh I guess you get a "California Only" newspaper and TV stations that no one else sees? I bet I know more "ABOUT IT" than you do. I know that If Arnie was a real Republican the Kennedy’s would have killed him years ago. You just keep supporting the Liberals and the Leftwing. I am sure you can't figure this out,it is to deep for some people.

Pretty sad.

disclaimer: I have access to all the same information as anyone in California, The destruction of the moral fabric of the Nation is my concern, and not the Imposter Republican Candidate and his pal Rob Lowe and Warren Buffett.

Please link me to your criticism of that graphic before I morphed it from a slam of Schwarzenegger, to one more favorable to him. Thanks in advance.

It's hard to believe you are the same DoughtyOne who introduced the thread with your well-written essay Schwarzenegger is The Kindergarten Candidate which includes the following quotes made by you (there are many more). I believed you.

You won't see me trashing McClintock or Ueberroth.

Kevin, I think it's fair to point out his faults. In the current climate I think it is defeatist to do so. We should remain positive regarding McClintock and Schwarzenegger.

I'm not in the business of daming Republican canidates. I am in the business of trashing Bustamante and making sure he NEVER takes office as Governor.

Get it? MCCLINTOCK IS MY FIRST CHOICE!....You don't need to play McClintock off as a martyr. He is presenting his views to the public, and seeing if they play in the marketplace. Along with you, I hope he is successful.

It doesn't boil down to you converting me to be a McClintock supporter. I already am.

I've tried to make it as plain as I can that I want McClintock to win, but as long as you guys keep trashing someone we may have to rely on to keep Bustamante out of there, I'm going to have to keep responding that we may have no choice to but back A.S., and I'll continue to ask you not to destroy him on the forum.

Schwarzenegger cannot affect abortion policy.

Not entirely true. Sch cannot change the SCOTUS decision--but he can seriously affect Cali tax dollars going toward abortion. Look at what GWB has done--all positive.

...California's Answer lays in having a Repbublican Spending Veto sitting its Governor's Chair...

Republicans have a spending veto in a united Republican caucus in the State Senate. This year they had the two extra unwavering votes to hold off any legislative tax increases. It's a unity that Cruz Bustamante would be unable to break. It's a unity that Tom McClintock is a part of.

An allegedly Republican governor however could easily come in and twist arms for a tax hike in the name of the "emergency" loophole in his promise to not raise taxes.

NEVER FORGET

Wilson did it in his first month in office in 1991 - Wilson and his minions are runnning Arnold's show

NEVER FORGET

GWB has fought the abortion bunch tooth and nail, principally in the UN to this point. He obviously cannot fix SCOTUS too easily...but it will happen.

He's quite passionate about the issue, a branch of which was the 'fetal tissue' item, on which he made the pro-life decision.

There may be other actions in his bag, but the time hasn't come yet.

Let's say you're right.

Whether I agree in all things with Schwarzenegger or not, I disagree in every instance with Davis and Bustamante. I'll vote for Schwarzenegger rather and see Davis
or Bustamante hold the office.

While I agree that it would be better if the things you mentioned were addressed, if McClintock can't get elected they won't be no matter what.

Quotes from another thread:

Bustamante as governor would not be good news for Bush. As a Democrat in the governor’s chair, he would inherit Davis’s fiscal problems but not his personal baggage. Accordingly, the election of a Republican Oct. 7 suddenly becomes a Bush priority. Nobody gives 2002 nominee Bill Simon a prayer, and state Sen. Tom McClintock is a very dark horse. That is why, on the day after Schwarzenegger nudged aside Riordan to become a candidate, the President declared of the five-time Mr. Universe: “I think he’d make a good governor.”

LINK

I think McClintock is the better candidate.  If he can't win I will vote for someone else rather than see Davis or worse yet Bustamante hold the office.

Look at his history and you'll see lots of insults.

Also acknowledge who is being insulted.

So with all your ranting about issues surrounding life, and the implication with your holier-than-thou attitude that you are superior to Schwarzenegger supporters, are you one of those that hope Bustanmante wins if McClintock can't, so Californians can suffer under the yoke of Bustamante in order to see your point and finally vote your way in 2006?

No kidding about McClintock. CA is just too moderate for him.. and so ppl won't vote for him. I will vote for Arnold because he had to work hard to get where he is now. I don't mind that he has never held public office b4... its good to have "new blood" in government. I have had enough of these dolts that keep getting re-elected and long time politicians. gaaaaaaaa
