But who knows, maybe I'm just an idiot and don't know what I'm talking about.

If you are anything like me, you are smarter than you look:)

I think the fact that the post count is around 400 for a 3 hour old thread shows that this "revelation" about Arnold is indeed a big deal. I'm curious how the rest of the media will handle this and what kind of affect this will have on his candidacy.

That's it? The rape allegations were the only thing you found objectionable about Slick Willie's behavior in 1998?

Ri-i-i-i-i-i-ght.

Hypocrite.

You owe Bill Clinton an apology, hypocrite.

I'm glad I don't.

And even more, has anyone caught him in a lie?

YES YES YES.

In a 1977 interview with OUI Magazine, Ahnold acknowledges his drug use:

OUI: Do you use dope?

SCHWARZENEGGER: Yes, grass and hash-no hard drugs ...

In 1988 interview with Playboy, Ahnold changes his tune (the other drugs referred to by the interviewer were roids):

PLAYBOY: What about other drugs; have you done them?

SCHWARZENEGGER: Never in my entire life. When I came to America, someone gave me a drug like speed. He told me it would make me sharper and I'd lose weight. But I lost muscle tone. It was like having a hard-on that's not hard, that is half limp. I don't like that. I like to feel fully pumped. I threw the pills away. Nor has anyone so much as smoked a joint when I was there. Or sniffed coke. Or taken any drugs. In Hollywood, I have never seen any drugs on the set or anywhere. It could be because people know me well enough to know that I don't want anything like that. I'm around actors all the time -- and I've worked with them in Mexico, on jungle locations where you'd think it might happen just to pass the time -- and I've never seen it.

Was lying a part of the "national psychosis" in 1988?

Listen ambrose, you are a one note Johnny. I don't think you are open to exchanging ideas. You just seem to be painted in a corner. You are coming off as desperate. Accusing Arnold of lying will not get me to vote for McClintock.

Maybe I lived in a "good" area of California in the 70's, and was too young, but dating strippers, hanging out with hookers, group sex, didn't happen that much in my neighborhood. No, everybody didn't do it.

For those who claim they only cared about Clinton's sex life post monica, and the deposition, quit being stinking hypocrites. Jennifer Flowers ring a bell? I am sure we all said, well he wasn't under oath, and he wasn't in office as President, it's really not that big of a deal.

If we could take a retroactive journey back to 1992, and somebody drug out a never published interview with Clinton from 1967, where he said the exact things Arnold did, while he was still single... I am sure that everybody here would have said that was swell. Oh yeah, youthful stuff. Nothing to see here, move on. Arnold was 29 here. The stories have been making the rounds here in California for years, that he never lost his eye for the ladies even after marriage.

Some people here need to take yoga very quickly, or they are going to get stuck in a pretzel shape from all the contortions they are using to justify supporting a tax loving, gun banning, oil drilling hating, Kennedy who treats women like pieces of meat. Must have been what endeared him to the family.

I would like people to just say, I just don't want a tax raise. Arnold can sacrifice babies on a satanic altar, as long as he leaves taxes alone.

Solution: simple.

Reporter: Arnold, did you ever smoke marijuana?

Arnold (if true): Yes, I did.

Reporter: Could you explain why?

Arnold: (response is immaterial at this point. The honest admission is what's key).

I doubt anyone will care (or even notice), but he DENIED having ever done ANY drugs of ANY kind in a 1988 interview with Playboy.

I can handle a lot of stuff but lying to Playboy is just something I won't tolerate!

What is the point of bringing up something Bill Clinton and his brother did 26 years ago? But Freepers were fixated on Clinton's alleged sex antics of the 1970s and 80s - - - but DON'T TELL US ABOUT ARNOLD, AND THAT'S AN ORDER!

I certainly wasn't one of them. In fact I didn't even agree with impeaching Clinton because of Monicagate because I thought there were far worse impeachable offences. If it was known that Arnold still had a problem today (or within the last 5-10 years) with drugs or infidelity I would say this is relevant. But it's obvious to me this is nothing more than a smear tactic by Drudge (and no doubt the Dems will run with it). Maybe it's because Arnold is pro-choice and Drudge is not. But let's not forget Drudge ran on his website several times (even the same day Arnold was on Leno)that he was NOT going to run and then of course he announces he is running on Leno, leaving Drudge with egg on his face. Perhaps that has something to do with Drudge's campaign against him.

"In 1999 Schwarzenegger told George magazine of his bitterness about the frenzy over Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton and the waste of time and energy it represented. 'That was another thing I will never forgive the Republican party for," he said. 'I was ashamed to call myself a Republican during that period.'"

Well, now we know why Arnie was so quick to defend Bill Clinton.

They're soulmates.

And that speaks volumes about both you and the other Ahnold boosters on this forum.

The tabloids have stuff on Arnold in the last 5 years. That is what discouraged him from running in the main election last November. He figures this quick stretch, and he can survive it, but not over a 9 month campaign cycle.

True or not, the conventional wisdom for years in Hollywood, has been that Arnold plays the field and the tabloids are just trying to get the right goods on him.

They will release it the week-end before the election, after Karl Rove has already told McClintock to back out for the good of the party.

The Clinton situation is totally different. He was commiting adultery and he denied it, ultimately under oath. He violated his oath of office. He also was alleged to have roughed up at least one of his dates. Other former flames fled in terror after suspicious things started happening to them (think Miss Arkansas). There is absolutely no evidence he ever reformed, in fact he continued his activities throughout his Presidency. All this in addition to his sleazy real estate deals, draft dodging, and just comical lies about stuff like not inhaling.

Arnold was single, he was engaged in completely consensual activities, and nobody feared for their lives. He never commited perjury. Ultimately, there is good evidence that he settled down, married, and continues to have a successful (i.e., not sham) marriage.

You guys might as well give it up, the Clinton situation is completely different. Time to move on, the California electorate doesn't care.

Who says it is the dems bringing this out? Wouldn't it be advantageous for McClintock or Ueberroth to have a terrible item hit Arnold?

I don't think McClintock or Ueberroth would stoop to this level. And they don't have to because someone else will do it for them (Drudge). But obviously this is the Dems advantage. They're confidant they can beat McClintock so of course they want him to be the Republican candidate at the end of the day. The more Conservatives trash Arnold the better it is for Cruz and Co.

Your refusal to answer the simple question speaks volumes about you and other Ahnold boosters on this forum. You Clintinoids want to make me vomit. Oh yes, I am desperate... seeing another bubble burst... I thought people on this forum really were enraged by Clinton's lying and depravity. They weren't, it was all huffing and puffing. They were pissed off because Clinton had a "D" next to his name. They're fine with Ahnold because there's an "R" next to his.

Sickening, truly sickening...

So what are you doing here? Are you a masochist? If I was so unhappy or suffering to the extent you claim to be, I would move on. Life is too short.

Yes, you are right. Everybody gave Clinton a pass on his personal life until that fateful day that it was revealed that he lied under oath about Monica. You are right.

Anything he did in Oxford, Moscow were all youthful escapades that nobody here cared about.

Do you have a bridge in Brooklyn you are going to try to sell me next too?

This could be where we see which is the bigger force in the G.O.P. -- the pro-business Republicans or the pro-family Republicans. Certainly there is a good deal of overlap, but their interests do not always coincide.
