Do it now!
I buried my younger brother yesterday...and I thought about what I had last said to him.

I lost a brother a long time ago and think about him every day. I feel he is with me in spirit, in God's hands. My prayers are with you.
Ever since 9/11 nobody in this family parts without an "I love you". Life is too short for anything else.

"I buried my younger brother yesterday...and I thought about what I had last said to him."I am so very sorry, blam. Thoughts are with you and your family. Lost my youngest brother when he was 20. Last time I saw him, he was home from college for the weekend, I will always treasure his last words to me "I love you so much, always be happy". I think of him everyday and I know he is in Heaven.
Great thread Carlo3b, freeper hugs to ya.

blam, I lost a brother, too...with no real warning, and no real opportunity to tell him how much I loved him. In my case, I had mailed him a card that never was opened - we found it slid under the door of his apartment, probably delivered a day after he disappeared.
I know what losing a sibling is like. (I've lost two, and I'm only 43.)
I'm so sorry to hear you're going through it.

In 1947 I saw my sister(then 11 and I was 6 and could not swim) drown. Not a day goes by that I do not think of that tradegy. My parents have both passed but my prayer is that all of my 6 children outlive me.

OUCH!
You might consider writing him a letter. Perhaps taking it to his grave site and burning it or burning it on a high mountain you may have hiked together to.
I suspect he'll receive the message from just your writing it.

I buried my younger brother yesterday. And I helped my 79 year-old father say goodbye to his younger brother not too long ago. There's not much to say that can help, except to have people around who understand why it matters.
Take care, blam. We know you from your profile and your comments. Your brother had a great role model and must have been a super human being.

My dear friends.. how truly wonderful you are. It's good to take pause and count your blessings occasionally. I am a lucky man to have great friends and a wonderful loving family. I have 5 beautiful and bright children and 5 absolutely gorgeous grandchildren.. (all a tribute to their noble and honorable lineage)I came to FreeRepublic as a guest 6 years ago as therapy, after having suffered a stroke. If it was serenity I was needing, it wasn't to be found on these threads, then or now.. LOL
It was, I soon discovered, a pathway to a new neighborhood, an extended family. I found my way back to good health, better than before, because I had found friends, and allies. I discovered I was not alone in my beliefs.
Here on these threads, like tonight, I thank the Lord I am an American, and that there are thousands of people just like me, that share the vision of our founding fathers, and we each have found a place to gather. Birds of a feather.. not always agreeing, not always arguing either, but always close when you need them.. GOD BLESS YOU ALL... and thank you Jim Robinson for our home away from home.
To all of you wonderful FReepers, you are never alone, you are always with kin on these pages....
I LOVE YOU ALL...
