BTW, does Bustamonte have an accent?

Of course. EVERYONE has an accent. Just ask the next Brit that you encounter whether or not you have one!

Despicable. Perahps someone should point instruct Davis in the correct Latin pronunciation of "California." I'd bet he doesn't pronounce it correctly.

A gubernatorial candidate has no cause to engage in that kind of bigotry. It fits right in there with Bustamante's comments about "niggers."

Race pimps are inevitably racists.

Davis told him not to worry, the Bee reported, and added with a smile, "You shouldn't be governor unless you can pronounce the name of the state," in an apparent reference to Schwarzenegger's Austrian accent.

When Davis smiles, the sharks get nervous.

Ironically, Arnold pronounces the word more accurately than most. Cal-eee-forn-eee-a is a Spanish word and Spanish speakers pronounce it just that way. It is we Americans, including dave grayvis, who pronounce is wrongly.

But I'll bet Davis has no oppostion to VOTERS who can't pronounce the name of the state!

Given that California is a Spanish word, I'd bet you don't pronounce it correctly either.

Davis is a petty, mean little man.

*BUMP* !

Davis is pathetic and a whiney, shivering, spotted yellow dog. He is very afraid of Arnold. McClintock supporters take note: When your candidate pulls Arnold down you will have to live with Bustamonte as the Gov. Better make plans to move to Nevada.

From his biography...

Gray Davis was born in New York City on December 26, 1942.

Damn right non-Californians have been driving this state into the ground.

"you shouldn't be governor unless you can pronounce the name of the state."

Said Arnold: - "Vell, vat did ve expect anyway? Besides, he does pushups like a girl."

Davis... hmmm... isn't that, like, a Welsh name??

It is Lithinuanian and roughtly translates into "He Who Shamelessly Panders" or in Gaullicic "This Space For Rent"

I remember when Reagan ran against Pat Brown for Governor the first time. Pat Brown ran a campaign type informational showing how Pat Brown had worked his way to the top while at the same time Reagan was acting in Hollywood and not being a very good one at that. In the ad Brown says to to a group of black kids sitting in class "remember an actor shot Lincoln." Gray comments about Arnold reminded me of that.

Davis spokesman Pete Ragone said he did not hear the comment. "Furthermore, the real question is, is Arnold sorry for the way he's talked about women over the past 20 years? Is Arnold sorry for his support of Prop. 187?" Ragone asked.

Typical demonrat spin control! We didn't do it - but so what - the Republicans have done worse things!

' If you grew up in the Barrio, you wold recognize the latino-street accent. But as a child, his parents would NOT let him speak spanish at home, so he speaks colloquial, un-accented (if at times ungrammatical) English "

One thing Cruz has going for him,is his speaking voice-it's sonorous and unaccented, perfect for delivering a speech or participating in a debate. There will be a certain amount of voters who will be impressed by his deep, measured tones and ignore what he is actually saying.

...remember an actor shot Lincoln." Gray comments about Arnold reminded me of that.

And that remimds me of a popular Reagan campaign slogan in 1980 which went...

"Why not an actor? We've had a clown for the last four years."

You bet, most of the fruits and nuts along with Davis are not even from California. Paradise always attracts the best and unfortunately, sometimes the worst, like Gray Davis, Barbara Boxer etc...

Think the Schwarzenegger camp should also demand an apology from McClintock's scorched-earth subset here at FR? They do the same constantly, out of their seething hatred.

Oh wait, he'd not do that. It would seem like criticizing McClintock, and unlike McClintock, Schwarzenegger has consistently held to Reagan's so-called Eleventh Commandment.

Ironic distinction, eh?

Dan
