Report: Davis Slams Schwarzenegger's Accent

California Gov. Gray Davis (search) on Saturday took a dig at Republican gubernatorial candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger (search ), telling one potential voter at a campaign stop that "you shouldn't be governor unless you can pronounce the name of the state."

And the Schwarzenegger campaign wants a formal apology.

The campaign manager should have regretted Davis' insensitivity and ethnic baiting (as evidence by the comment from the crowd). Instead of demanding an apology, it should be pointed out that is in not appropriate leadership from either party and Arnold will continue to pursue the American Dreams of equality and mutual respect.

This has to do with the fact that it is the illegal-alian pandering born-again-LEFTIST that said this. Srnold has been really great about laughing off his accent and lack of complete grasp of English.

If you grew up in the Barrio, you wold recognize the latino-street accent. But as a child, his parents would NOT let him speak spanish at home, so he speaks colloquial, un-accented (if at times ungrammatical) English (btw, he has been AGAINST English-only in schools, even though that very philosophy has put him where he is -- now he wants to have as many illiterates as possible to keep oppressed under his heel) .

It doesn't matter what Davis said because Arnold is an Austrian. Austrians are not federally protected minorities, so you can insult them all you want with impunity. Davis, being a sensitive and tolerant Democrat would never make a such a statement about a black, Hispanic, or Asian's accent. But a white European, they're fair game.

Either Davis isn't campaigning for his own no votes or the press is persuing the anti- Schwarzenegger theme........ My guess is it's the latter....
