I really don't want to see your state sink into chaos and I know what that means. But I do believe that if Cruz got in the truth of what he is and what he would do would cause an incredible backlash. So far the PC folks get away with their nutty ideas because noone ever gets to see the logical outcome of what they espouse. I think Cruz would give California away, I think he would accelerate the bankrupcy of the state. I honestly think this guy is scary as hell. We had one like that in Louisiana once and it was bad,,it took two generations to start to recover from that and the state is not out of the woods. His very badness and the badness of the democratic party here will be their undoing. And with Cruz, it will be undone even faster,,he is a radical and while Californians pretend to be radicals, I don't think they will stomach what he would do. I also think the pubs are killing themselves. But nevertheless, I don't want to see "our people" suffer any more than they are already.

This is a Conservative forum.

*A vote for Arnold is a vote for Amnesty. **Your severely biased assertion, despite much evidence to the contrary.
Give me actual evidence, not spin. Are you saying that despite his comments on Hannity, Arnold doesn't want to legalize "undocumented immigrants?" Source? Link? Here's your chance... persuade me, and I'll consider voting for Arnold.

Because, from where I sit, that looks like the _actual_ choice you may have to make. Either vote "yes" to retain Davis, or vote for the Republican candidate of your choice -- and _get_ Bustamente.I don't think it is that simple any more. Bustamante is no longer saying "no on recall." His Mexican voters are going to vote for him, and for the recall - watch. A can of worms has been opened that cannot be closed. Democrats know how to game this thing, too. Davis will be recalled, and there is nothing to prevent it. The remaining question is who will replace him - and it isn't going to be McClintock or Ueberroth.
To: freekitty
I don't see how a candidate who is making it easy for Bustamante could possibly be the 'best man'.

So what does that mean? This is a "conservative forum". Sure it is but a "conservative" covers alot of territory, something FReepers refuse to acknowledge at times. It may come as a shock but conservatives don't march lockstep.

McSpoiler with the Napoleon complex belonged out of here before absentee ballots were delivered to homes.
Let's see who the Democrat supporters are who still follow this most selfish political hack and see how they can claim to be so darn conservative while getting Democrats elected.
They are a joke as of this point IMO!

You don't have it right about Arnold at all! It is a lot more than Taxes!
Arnold supports the ban on partial birth abortion and is for parental notification!
Cruz is for neither!
Arnold is against illegal immigation -- Cruz welcomes them.
Arnold is against driver's license for illegals -- Cruz is for them.
Shall I go on?
Your credibility would be enhanced if you didn't spin and say they are the same except for Taxes!

Tin foil time, but with casino money floating about, and Tommy STILL acting like he's a somebody to be reckoned with, will he have a higher profile under a Davis or Bustamante admin???
What has gone unsaid is perhaps....the No side winning on the recall, by McClintock staying in the race until the bitter end.Considering how nasty Davis is, it has to be considered :)

"So what does that mean? This is a "conservative forum". Sure it is but a "conservative" covers alot of territory, something FReepers refuse to acknowledge at times. It may come as a shock but conservatives don't march lockstep."You've confused republican with Conservative. This is a Conservative forum, and Arnold is no Conservative.
To: PhiKapMom
The perfect is the enemy of the good. McClintock supporters need to know this. Republicans need to know this.
To: Sabertooth
I provided that all to you the other evening, along with the AP article that stated in black and white that Arnold does not propose Amnesty.
Your choice in believing he is lying is puzzling enough. Your extending that personal belief as fact and using it to damage him as a candidate deserves to be disputed.

Well, would you allow that Arnold is more conservative than Cruz. Or is it McClintock or nobody? And conservative means alot of things. Not just your view.
To: cajungirl
Which of Arnold's positions in post #238 do you consider to be Conservative?
To: habs4ever
The more I think about it, the more I believe that all that Indian Casino money that MCClintock is sharing with Bustamante comes with strings.

None. But he is not associating with those who would give California back to Mexico and he is against taxes and has a pro business stance. And I agree with some of the things posted. Arnold is a social liberal and claims to be a fiscal conservative. Sounds like alot of people I like and am related to. The world is not black or white in my mind. Does that make me the enemy?
To: Sabertooth
Are you saying that despite his comments on Hannity, Arnold doesn't want to legalize "undocumented immigrants?" While Arnold himself has said that he wants to 'legalize' illegal immigrants (I think his actual words were "get them out from undercover"), a spokesman for him has said that he doesn't support 'amnesty'. You make the call.

If McClintock can't possibly win a statewide race in California, then why would you want him to run for the US Senate?
If there is a Republican in the Governor's mansion and the state hasn't fallen into the ocean, a Republican with name recognition could easily take the seat away from Boxer who is the weaker of the two senators from California.
Would the party support him? Certainly. Why? Because the state party wants McClintock controlled, simple as that. As for those who suppose Dreir will run for the Senate, in my opinion you can strike his name off the list right now. Why give up a secure seat in the House where he's the head of the rules committee to become the junior senator from California?
