So, looks like about half the McClintock supporters would pretty much sit on their hands if McC pulls out of the race.
Would have been nice see see how much that was true of Arnold's supporters if he pulled out of the race.

(Arnold opposes the driver's licenses, but he also wants to lobby DC to legalize Illegal Aliens. Ah.)

I would hope that at least Ueberoth would drop out soon, to at least allow the McClintock vs. Arnold cagematch to occur one-on-one.

Do you get the impression that Arnold's supporters would sit on their hands and not vote for McClintock? I've seen precisel the opposite stated here in the various threads.

The support Arnold is getting from Republicans would shift to McClintock (Although not all because many would realize the simple fact that McClintock can't win in Red California, so they would simply stay home). And the support Arnold is getting from moderates, independents and free-thinking rats would go elsewhere. Or not vote at all. And Bust-a-move would win in a walk.
We all know this to be true.

This arnold supporter would vote for mcClintock if Arnold pulled out. You cannot govern if you are NOT elected. You cannot hold a veto, if there is NO R governor to issue the veto... whatever or whoever it takes... to get some control over the legislative process...
We gotta get whoever we can in there... but I prefer Arnold. He is more in line with the average californian than McClintock... I don't think the majority of voters would pick McC... and as such I see him as a spoiler candidate only... and most likely financed by democrats and the indian gaming association of gangsters...

If Arnold pulled out, you'd see as much boost to Bustamante's numbers as to McClintock's. The Independents in California are too far to the left (socially) to swallow McClintock. The Democrats that Arnold is picking up will go back home. McClintock's best chance to gain would be the undecideds, which are still there in numbers.
