You seriously need to study this religion. Islam has not been perverted, those "perverted people" are the ones actually trying with all their ability to follow the teachings found in the koran. Just read the stupid book and find all of the passages calling for your death or enslavement, that is of course assuming that you are not a muslim. If you are a muslim the book teaches that you are to lie to non-muslims and present islams teachings in the most favorable light that will get converts.

There were millions of peaceful Germans during the Nazi era, there were millions of peaceful Russians during Stalin's era. This is not a valid argument. Islam is a not a valid religion.

The fact that those MILLIONS of "peaceful, law abiding,..." don't seem to have any problems with their more violent brethren (or at least they don't see enough problems to loudly and convincingly denounce them) tells me that YOU are the one who is posting ignorance.

Hey Plano - You make assumptions in your posts. Unless you have some hard polling figures to report, most literate and intelligent people would highly (highly) doubt that most Muslims would give you a funny look when mentioning Jihad, or that millions are peaceloving. When I see them dancing on TV, etc. in joyful ecstasy over the deaths of people due to suicide bombers, that certainly makes me wonder about how truly peaceful they are. After the events of September 11th, we had school students here in Ohio -- guess which ones I'm talking about?(my brother is a teacher here and verified this information to me) running around high-fiving and doing things like that. It greatly upset my nieces who were in Middle School at the time. The Palestinian and Arab kids were tormenting them. They used to attend a school in a Western Suburb of Cleveland, that has a large population of Middle Eastern people.

Further, I have not heard one Muslim in a leadership position, a position of power or respect denounce these lunatics. They talk out of both sides of their mouth. There is no sincerity that I see. I hear non-Muslims speaking for the Muslims. Well, I want to hear it from the horse's mouth (call me old-fashioned).

I have read a couple of books on Islam and it's beliefs and tenets. The religion espouses violence and to convert or kill all infidels. It doesn't get any clearer than that.

I think what rankles many of us though, is that these peaceful, law-abiding muslim folk are so incredibly slow to speak up and combat the way in which their own "good name" is being daily abused by the millions of nut-case muslims in the world. Non-muslims are regularly harrassed, tortured and murdered in other lands for their "disbelief." To my knowledge, no muslim organizations in America are particularly disturbed by this reality.

I don't doubt there are a lot of peace-loving muslims. The problem is that the peace-loving ones are not being true to the core teachings of the Koran.
